We are looking for "Programme Director(IT) - Global Commercial & Chemicals" for Bangalore location.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Manage the overall execution of the IT investment Plan and ensure agreed budget, schedule and quality milestones are met

- Drive project execution across the organisation. The PD is the authority on how to structure and execute projects, ensuring fit for purpose methods and sourcing that enables delivery, manages risk and realisation of business value

- Determine and implement appropriate ways of working to deliver projects across multiple resource hubs and explicitly move towards a - more- agile delivery model, with a real focus on commerciality, 's bottom line and value to our customers

- Implement a risk based approach to prioritize management attention and intervention on high risk projects

- Perform and direct interventions on projects that are not delivering as promised

- Identify dependencies between programmes within the portfolio and across the larger Downstream portfolio

- Ensure learnings are captured and knowledge retained within PM community

- Ensure all Functional Excellence Processes and I.T. controls are adhered to

- Represent the organisation on any necessary Functional Excellence forums and implement / embed new project delivery ways of working into the PM community.

- Partner with Competence Centre Managers and other key stakeholder groups to insure projects are properly resourced and that improved resourcing strategies are developed and implemented (including 3rd parties)

- Accountable for individual staff development and performance management of the PD organisation

- Continuously improve the overall competence of the PD community across the organisation

- Represent specific Class of Business IT in the Downstream PD network.

- Serve as a member of the IT Leadership Team and contribute to initiatives outside of project delivery

Dimensions :

- Accountable for delivering an annual investment portfolio of $50 - $70m

- Immediate team of 7 - 10 direct reports, and will lead an overall team of 50 - 60 Staff (Project/Programme Managers, Portfolio Delivery Managers and PMO) plus 3rd party resources as required to meet project commitments

- Projects are global in nature and will primarily delivered with resources based in Houston, London and Bangalore

- The project portfolio would normally have approximately 100 projects running concurrently

Special challenges :

- Drive the organization away from a primarily Waterfall Delivery to a more Agile approach (including DevOps) and improve our speed to market and the delivery of value to our Customers and our Business

- Significant diversity and complexity in the portfolios, built on many different applications, platforms (PAAS, SAAS, Bespoke and off the shelf) and technologies, and driving complexity and risk into the overall delivery

- The portfolio is supported by multiple vendors with a mix of different contract models, with both insourced and outsourced resources

Experience and Qualifications :

- 15+ years experience in IT, with a minimum of 10 years managing the delivery of large and complex IT projects and programmes, specifically as the person directly accountable for the delivery of the project as a whole (rather than in a generalised role) and ideally with experience related to the Class of Business and Portfolio as described - Purpose- above

- Deep expertise in leading teams across multiple locations including ability to manage in a matrix organisation

- Demonstrated ability to influence people at all levels, including those outside of direct line of control

- Experience in talent development and coaching for success and be able to motivate and inspire a team working under pressure

- Very strong stakeholder management skills, including coaching senior stakeholders, managing governance bodies, and creating executive-level communications

- Advanced skills in developing business cases, financial management, and strategic thinking

- Extensive Commercial and Contract Management knowledge and with the ability to manage and build strong vendor relationships for both software products and consultancy assignments

- Demonstrated learning agility in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations

- Demonstrated an ability to intervene in difficult situations and develop remedies for significant delivery issues

- Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (or equivalent)

- Degree-educated
