Program Officer - Capacity Building & Communications - Consulting Firm (7-10 yrs)
Reports to : Chief Program Officer
Location : Amravati/Vijayawada, A.P.
Duration of contract : 2.5 years
Responsibilities :
The Program Officer, Capacity Building & Communications shall be responsible for the following :
i. Capacity Building :
- Identifying training needs of various stakeholders like Village Level Entrepreneurs, departmental officials, community based volunteers etc.
- Designing curriculum, training content, pedagogy etc. for the capacity building programmes
- Developing a stakeholder wise training calendar for induction/one- time as well as refresher training programmes
- Identifying and liaising with training partners, institutional and individual subject matter experts, faculty etc.
- Organizing training programmes as per the training calendar
- Evaluating the application of imparted knowledge, skills and attitude in program implementation by various stakeholders
ii. Communications :
- Designing and developing Information, Education & Communication (IEC) campaigns using based on the GSK/pilot program design
- Liaising with vendors for creation of collaterals and other material for the IEC campaigns
- Developing brochures, booklets etc. on various aspects of program implementation for dissemination to Village Level Entrepreneurs, departmental officials, community volunteers etc.
Any other tasks entrusted, as relevant to the implementation of the programme.
Candidate Profile :
Experience : At least 7 years overall experience of which at least the last 5 years should be in training and capacity building, preferably in Government/Public/NGO sector. Ex/retired faculty having experience in the rural development sector are encouraged to apply
Education : Master's in Mass Communications/Journalism, MBA or equivalent from top tier institutions (IIMs, ISB, IITs, XLRI, SPJIMS, IRMA, XIMB etc.)
Key Traits & Skills :
i. Demonstrated interest and commitment to the development of the marginalized
ii. Demonstrated experience in all aspects of training viz TNA, designing training content & pedagogy, organizing training programmes to large stakeholder groups, preferably to rural communities
iii. Preferably well versed with the eGovernance Systems
iv. Patient and comfortable working in a complex environment
v. Strong commitment to collaborative work
vi. Written and spoken knowledge of Telugu is necessary
vii. An ear to the ground
