Job Description:

The Program Manager will own all activities related to launching and making the NEN program in the region successful while working with the local partners and team members.

This role is primarily that of a Program and Partner Manager. Key activities will be in the area of planning, implementation coordination, interfacing with the Engineering and Management institutes, Entrepreneur and SME organizations, Mentor and Investor groups.

While the manager needs to have or develop expertise in the area of entrepreneurship development and education, the intent is to engage, and monitor individuals and partners, working with them with learning and content resources etc so that students, startups and SMEs have more support.

Additional responsibility would be to monitor results including new companies started by graduating students and growth indicators including jobs in the companies that are supported.

More specifically the role may be broken into the following key responsibilities:

I. Project Management of the National Entrepreneurship Network Program

1. Scope the Entrepreneurship and SME development stakeholders and framework in the country for a strong understanding of current status, challenges and opportunities

2. Help identify the needs and define the goals and scope of the program with clear roles and deliverables of the entities involved.

3. Work with the manager to create a detailed project plan, monitor actions and ensure timely completion of deliverables to meet the needs.

4. Sign up and build network of institutions and other partners

5. Liaison with all parties involved, ensuring common understanding and that deliverables meet the requirements.

6. In general, ensure WF involvement is properly utilized and resulting in valuable deliverables that meet the objectives of the program and WF NEN initiative.

II. Entrepreneurship education network

1. Responsible for developing and managing the NEN institutions & other partner Organizations including Entrepreneur & Startup Associations in a given market

2. Qualify and sign up relevant institutes as per target & within timelines

3. Facilitating the capacity development of member institutes this includes working with the head of the institution, faculty leaders, and students to help structure, design and execute the right experiential programs

4. Facilitate access to different resources from within and outside

5. Initiate and lead collaborations, networking & training programs on ground

6. Identify & develop local resource teams including key faculty, mentors & entrepreneurs

7. Work with individual institutions to visualize and build goals & annual road maps

8. Work with the Central Team in mapping the market training needs and help implement these programs on ground

9. Help administer the surveys on campuses at regular intervals

10. Catalyze interest in entrepreneurship amongst students on campuses

11. Drive participation for programs

III. Startup and SME network and support

1. Identify and enroll high potential startup entrepreneurs and SMEs for different kinds of programs

2. Identify and strategically engage all the relevant ecosystem partners such as mentors, investors, incubators, accelerators

3. Deploy the NEN service offerings intelligently to the respective target customers in each region

4. Monitor the impact of the program through jobs created

5. Identify critical needs of startup entrepreneurs in the region and provide recommendation to program and product teams for modifications or development of relevant programs and content.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications: Masters degree in Business, Social Work or other equivalent degree

Experience: Minimum 8 years with at least 3 years in roles leading projects and people. Experience should include interfacing with Entrepreneurial ecosystem, higher educational institutes, government departments and other entities. Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic planning skills. Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Communications:Excellent oral and written English skills. Able to listen, understand and communicate effectively. Able to develop documents and other write-ups for communication on paper, via the web and other means. Ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences including students, teachers, principals, government as well as industry personnel.

Project Management: Strong program management skills. Ability to break up a complex deliverable into a project plan with realistic tasks. Ability to manage aggressive deadlines with ownership and required hard work to keep to deadlines.

People/Team Skills:Highly presentable and pleasant. Confident and able to interface with senior faculty/ industry experts/ Education Partners and government officials to derive results. High energy, exhibiting passion and drive for their work and able to rally other people around common goals. Work as an independent contributor and also as coordinator in a team.

Technology:Mastery of MS Office and e-learning tools Word, Power point, Excel, e-learning platforms. Ease of use of internet for getting data and communicating over email. Any experience in Learning Management Systems/e-learning will be a plus.
