Job Description - Its a Product Category Manager role for home appliances division of a fast growing organisation

Client Details :

Our client is a growing organisation in the lifestyle space offering products across Kitchen and Home Appliances, Fitness and Grooming, Lifestyle as well as Smart Home devices. They are deeply rooted in the understanding of the consumer space in India and make it a point to deliver products basis heavy market research and innovation. They are looking out for a Product Manager to handle their Appliances Division in order to help grow the segment further in the Indian market.

Description :

The Product manager would report into the Category Head and would be responsible for:

- Determine customer's needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information

- Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes

- Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitor's products

- Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives

- Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests

- Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules

- Bring new products to market by analysing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing

- Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production

- Determine product pricing by utilising market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customised orders

Profile :

The successful candidate:

- Should have a technical background through education or work experience

- Should be an MBA with 8+ years of experience in product management

- Should have had some prior experience in being a part of innovations and planning team for the product

- Should be a go-getter and have a sound understanding of a P&L

- Should have experience in managing people or a team
