Product Manager - Agri

This role is with a leading player in the Agriculture industry an established brand which has been present for a few decades. Its a market leader in hybrid seeds.

The Product Manager will be responsible for the entire service line development, pricing and service package creation. He will be responsible for execution of on the ground marketing activities, supporting projects team in expansion activities and help sales personnel realise budgeted sales.

This is a strategic role, which has high visibility and requires someone with the potential to lead a major product and work with the senior leadership team for sustenance and new product launches.

This is a PAN India role which would require you to travel extensively but is based out of Tamil Nadu (non-negotiable).

Please note this role requires a graduate in Agri backed by a preferable MBA in Agri with 5-10 years of experience in product management or marketing.

The role would include :

- Evaluation of the product performance and document the product life cycle -plan & forecasting the need for replacement.

- Customer profiling through market research and prepare product requirement documents to effectively position products in each segment.

- Forecast market behaviour through periodic Market Intelligence (market trends; competing brands and their market share, market strategies deployed by competitors) in relation to our product.

- Develop internal mechanism to evaluate the Region wise/category wise Demand Estimation/Sales Forecast.

- Identify advertising and promotion objectives specific to geographies.

- Co-ordinate between PD, Sales, Production, Processing, Breeding, Finance to ensure smooth execution of Marketing plan.

To fit the bill, you must be :

- B. Tech (Agriculture) or B.Sc. with MBA/PGDM (Agri-Business preferred) from a top B school in Agriculture.

Desired Experience :

- 5-8 years of experience of working in Agri industry

- Strong experience of product management for a leading Agri company

- Comfortable/ familiar to Agri space and working with farming community

- Commercial/financial perspective of the business
