Process Manufacturing Leader

Grade/Designation : Senior Manager

Location - Dharwad

Job Goal - Set up manufacturing lines and establish manufacturing process.

- Modification and upgradation of manufacturing line /processes for quality and productivity improvement.

- Meet demand of capacity and quality on Mfg Line in customer tolerance time

- Minimize PPM level and reduce quality cost

- Make each process capable

- Validate & qualify each process

- Increase production efficiency through improvements on line.

- Make production line world class by upgrading manufacturing process through planned improvements

Responsibilities:

Key Activities:

- Guide and coach team by demonstrating application of knowledge and skills.

- Design and establish Capable Mfg. Processes

- Improve productivity and quality.

- Ensure CCPM tasks are completed as per plan.

- Ensure capacity is available for manufacturing lines to meet demand on time

- Process validation and qualification

- Bottleneck cycle time reduction

- Improvement activities for process

- To solve quality related issue in QCM and BPR and action plan for the same

- Benchmarking of filter mfg. processes worldwide for current mfg. processes & new projects

- Manpower reduction projects through VSM

- CCR review of manufacturing processes

Routine Activities:

- Guide team in problem solving by using problem solving tools and SPC.

- Follow up of daily activity of team members and support resolution of pending issues.

- Plan and execute improvement actions for solving chronic issues Correction on sudden failure

KNOWLEDGE:

LEADERSHIP ROLE : ROLE IN STRATEGY / PLANNING/ PROBLEM SOLVING:

- Knowledge of Manufacturing/assembly processes and their design (preferably automotive components, precision assembly)

- Ability to master new knowledge frontiers is absolute must.

- Knowledge of Tools & Fixture designing, knowledge of basic manufacturing operation such as machining, welding, ultrasonic welding will be of added advantage.

- Knowledge of machine building

- Knowledge of automation and controls

- Understand layouts, types of production flow, takt time, ct Time & motion study, information flow, line balancing, Understand value stream mapping

- Understand lean manufacturing with scale-up/down possibilities

- In depth knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 6Sigma,Kaizen

- Process design, manufacturing feasibility study for new products, machine and accessory selection.

- Material properties and application, Tools & Fixture designing,

- Understanding machine controls, automation through PLC/HMI and use of various sensors.

- Understand lean manufacturing with scale-up/down possibilities

- Small automation / fool proofing / POKAYOKE techniques

- Well versed with Database management
