Specific to Amazon Pay as a product our vision is to make Amazon pay the most trusted, convenient and rewarding way for our customers and merchants to transact. We want to be the most preferred instrument when a customer and merchant transact, whether offline or online. To enable this vision, we have instruments such as Amazon pay Balance, Gift cards, UPI, Co-branded Credit cards and Use cases spreading across on-deck, Online and offline that customers frequent everyday.

As an offshoot of that uber vision in offline payments, our ambition is to enable 25MM offline stores by 2022 to accept Amazon pay. We will make Amazon pay on every merchant desk a possibility. This acceptance spans across large organized stores such as (but not limited to) Shoppers stop, Big bazaar, More, large local brands such as Kanti sweets, Paradise biryani, Wow Momo etc and long tail merchants in every nook and corner of this country. Achieving this vision requires a large resource pool on the field that solicits and onboards merchants and a corresponding organisation that manages this resource pool.

Job Purpose

To enable our vision on Amazon Pay, we are looking to focus on complementarity across use cases so that offline acceptance of Amazon pay is achieved at a merchant with a Single threaded ownership and expending minimal resources. To this effect, we are looking for a seasoned Sales leader who is passionate about building businesses at scale and is experienced and in developing and executing engagement strategy for their customers. The person will be a Single threaded Sales leader for Amazon Pay at Prione.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative climate. The role will require expertise both in internal team project management, working with leaders internally as well as in our partner organization to scale up the program, be a role model for your people doing things wholeheartedly, communicating with passion and enthusiasm, embracing change as a way of working and obsess over our customers. To succeed in this role, the candidate should be adept at building frameworks, cascade best practices in people management to the last mile team through the managers, take bold bets and have a high level of judgment for decision making.

Roles and Responsibilities

Scaling up the program requires identifying new potential within partner segments, developing scalable strategies and driving results for both Prione and our partners.

The right person will:

- Build and manage a high growth, sales and account management org for Amazon Pay products at Prione.

- Work closely with Amazon Pay leaders across unorganised offline payments.

- Work with stakeholders to draft a sales strategy spanning across various businesses, define synergies in sales processes, org structures, uber goals and cascading goals.

- Provide thought leadership on the implementation of a World Class distribution model, operating procedures, sales, service, and controls environment

- Build, develop and motivate a large sales organization including third party manpower and franchisee channels to deliver the largest ubiquitous offline merchant network for acceptance.

- Develop mechanisms for applying learnings and experiences to improve sales processes

- Work with external vendors and technology providers and amazon tech to build sales tools. Negotiate smart contracts with Manpower agencies.

- Act as the bridge between merchants and Amazon in driving product ideas, marketing initiatives, engagement initiatives etc

- Develop mechanisms to track progress across all businesses through updates, reports, WBR and Sales MBRs

- Creating an empowering environment for your people encouraging individual ownership, initiative and challenge of the status quo

Job Specifications

Education

Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

Experience

Relevant:

- Minimum of 5 years of BD/account management/sales experience in payments industry and overall 10+ years of experience

- Experience building out and managing physical distribution networks and growing the business through these channels by executing on-ground activations, trade and channel marketing initiatives.

- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage the business by the numbers. Must be metrics-driven.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.

- Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.

- Fluency in English is important along with awareness of local retail e-commerce landscape

Preferred:

- Experience working with SME Ecosystem is an advantage.

- Deep understanding of the retail and wholesale landscape in India with prior interactions with sellers and distributors is desirable.

- Experience selling nascent (embryonic/start-up) products/services into new markets is desired.

- Experience in defining new processes is desirable.
