The focus is on early-stage consumer focused businesses which don't have easy access to active equity capital and high quality blue-chip talent, with a firm belief that these will drive the next wave of growth and create unicorns outside the e-commerce space.

USP : Shall provide capital as well as have hands-on involvement in branding, distribution and organization building; The fund is a unique investment venture in that capital employed will form only a small part of the offering to potential investees, the larger element being active involvement by seasoned professionals in the areas of organization building, brand building, business strategy, product-to-market, sales and finance to help professionalize the organization and achieve scale and sustained growth.

The Role :

We are looking for a Principal who would be comfortable leading a few key investments of the fund at a time, and managing the entire lifecycle of these investments. The Principal will work almost like a co-founder in the portfolio companies, with very hands on operational and strategic involvement. The role would include :

1. Sourcing and evaluation of new investment opportunities in our sectors of interest

2. Championing of identified deals through the investment committee

3. Coordination of due diligence and closure of deal transaction (end-to-end)

4. High-touch support and involvement with the investee companies, proactively work with management and board of assigned companies to achieve scale, organization build-out and KPIs

5. Managing of exit from assigned companies at the appropriate time

6. Research and build-out of knowledge base and fund view on sectors of interest

7. Defining and implementing systems and processes to improve the scalability and value-add of the fund

8. Contribute actively towards overall fund level thinking and strategy

9. Active participation in the start-up community, develop a robust ecosystem of peer VCs, CEOs, board candidates, bankers, etc.

The Person :

1. Overall work experience of 7 - 10 years

2. Venture Capital / Private Equity experience for 5 - 6 years OR a founder at a VC-funded start up

3. Or leading a category or vertical in a consumer business / start-up with experience of building teams and managing the business end-to-end for 5-6 years

4. Entrepreneurial mindset with high ownership and problem solving skills

5. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to plan and manage a variety of projects

6. Commercial insight and understanding

7. Ability to thrive in ambiguity and demonstrate creativity and intellectual flexibility in an uncertain and rapidly changing environment

8. Strong analytical and communication skills

9. Strong networks in the start-up and corporate communities

10. MBA from a top-tier management school
