Principal Financial Services - Associate Manager - Accounting (12-18 yrs)
Role Description:
- This role is part of team that provides accounting support and solutions to Principal Financial Group.
- This team consists of several processes like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General ledger (Reconciliations and Journals support), Reporting, Tax, Control & Compliance.
- This role will lead an accounting team of 15-20 FTE and will be responsible for Day to day operations, Month-end, KPI /SLAs management, Monthly governance, transition/change management, operation excellence, consult and provide solution related R2R/AP/AR/Tax best practices
Reporting Relationship:
This role will report into Associate Director Accounting
Key Responsibilities:
Process:
- Manage accounting operations related to AP, Payroll, fixed accounting, commission accounting process
- Coordinate and support month end and yearend close
- Perform critical review of key processes, journals, reports and validations
- Support audit and finalization processes
- Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and reports
- Support and coordinate with onsite Finance team and business teams
- Manage and plan transitions
- Besides technical process support drive and improve process level SLA/KPIs
People:
- Development and career planning of the teams under their purview
- Develop and implement reward and recognition programs within the BU.
- Drive employee morale and satisfaction
- Attrition management and ensure timely recruitment and training of Associates.
- Work closely with line HR to drive team spirit.
- Communicate, influence and enforce consistent processes and policies across teams
Special projects/ initiative:
- Lead special projects/initiatives within the BU as well as engage in cross BU initiatives.
- Stakeholder relationship management
- Manage client relationship and front end with stakeholders to meet and manage their expectations
- Interface with our US counterparts on a regular basis
- Escalate issues which need their intervention.
- Exchange ideas and share best practices.
The essential skills for this would include:
- 12 years of experience in an offshore finance and accounting function
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Excellent proven technical accounting skills
- Leadership skills and ability to inspire the team,
- Experience in offshore setup will be added advantage.
