Job description : PYP Coordinator

PYP Coordinator will assist the Principal in the following

The PYP Coordinator is accountable for :

- Informing and advising the school administration regarding all aspects of the Primary Year Programme;

- Planning the Primary Year Programme in cooperation with the Primary School Principal;

- The personal and academic counselling of students;

- Maintaining regular contacts with the PYPO and assuming overall responsibility for administering, distributing, completing and returning all relevant documentation pertaining to the Primary Year programme;

- Supporting and advising teaching staff regarding the administration of the Primary Year Programme and ensuring that all coursework and examination requirements are met by the stipulated deadlines;

- Suggesting and reviewing resources for the programme & organizing PYP Exhibition.

- Drafting, issuing and administering the exam and invigilation timetables for mock Primary Year exams as required;

- Organizing, attending and leading such as PYP information evenings as are required;

- Liaise with the Primary School Principal with regard to the Year 5 Graduation and other school leaving events.

- Preparing an annual report for the administration and Board.

- Attending any professional development required to remain fully conversant with PYP requirements and developments.

Additional Responsibilities :

- Monitoring OCC

- Liaising with IB

- Updating POI and following up to ensure that all teachers have completed the POI

- Recommending professional growth of teachers

- Reviewing and modifying- Policies for PYP

- Overseeing PYP Exhibition

- Organizing/conducting parent orientation into PWS and PYP and other parent information sessions

- Coordinating academic curriculum - units, single subjects, specialist subjects

Training teachers as required through :

- In house training for subjects, Pathways School systems, Veracross

- Individual sessions

- Group training

- Role modeling

- Class room interactions

- Guest lectures

- Non IB training

- PYP training (in school/regional)

- Recommending teachers for training in IB workshops

- Coordinating procuring, creation and use of resources

- Promoting School and PYP Vision
