Policy Lead - Finance & Real Estate Portfolio - Financial Sector - Public Policy Background preferably from Chamber of Commerce

Position Summary :

In order to support the Finance & Real Estate portfolio, the team is seeking a Financial Sector Specialist with a background and experience in finance, financial sector policy design, development and implementation, to provide technical support and expert inputs on a wide range of financial sector issues.

Key Functions and Responsibilities :

Overall Strategy :

- Participate in the preparation, appraisal and implementation of financial sector advocacy issues

- Contribute to analytical and advisory activities on financial sector development policy issues through economic and sector work and technical assistance, including the management of member issues and advocacy agenda;

- Contribute to the policy dialogue on financial sector issues Ministry of Finance, RBI, Regulators as SEBI, PFRDA, IRDA, IBC, at both the policy and technical level;

- Play an active role in generation of the work program and provide input to monitoring and evaluation of the financial & real estate sector program delivery;

- Collaborate proactively with other Chambesr global practices and the IFC; OECD around the Financial sector regulatory themes, and support broader activities as needed and appropriate.

Business Development :

- Expand industry stakeholder engagement

- Plan develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and guiding business model to attain the self-sustainability of the organization

- Policy work to develop and position in the market for new member inclusion. A large criterion would be development of new member base of financial sector companies in India

Operations :

- Develop and deliver short-term and long-term goals set by the authorized committee both Financial and Non-financial.

- Create and manage the budget - functional & operational

- Manage day to day office finance and manage relationships in the western region office including State Government and US Consulate.

Selection Criterion :

- Advanced degree in finance, economics, public policy.

- At least eight (8) years of relevant work experience.

- Good knowledge of financial sector issues and demonstrated ability to engage in a broad range of development and policy issues;

- Connects with relevant Ministries and financial sector regulators in India

- Solid analytical skills as demonstrated by contributions to policy papers, financial sector studies, reports and strategies;

- A knowledge and familiarity with one or more regions and its financial systems would be highly desirable.

- Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment with excellent teamwork and diplomatic skills.

- Strong interpersonal and client engagement skills as shown by good working relationships with government clients, and other state and private sector institutions.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Knowledge and Experience in Market Regulations- Translates technical and cross-country knowledge into practical applications and contributions to country and sector strategies; interacts with members at the policy level

Experience :

- Total experience of 10 years or more with 6 years of experience in handling a team.

- Minimum 10 year's experience of working financial sector, with experience in building partnerships, projects involving stakeholders from industry-academia-government and capacity building in the related fields is preferable.

- Knowledge and Experience in the real estate sector will be an added advantage.

Qualification : Advanced degree in finance, economics, public policy.
