Piramal Foundation - Program Director - Special Education (8-15 yrs)

This role requires you to be based out of the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan-

The Program Director will be responsible for designing and implementing annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for Children with Special Needs to include - present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals. You will also work cooperatively with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula as needed, adapt lessons to meet the needs of students and assist special education students in regular classes with assignments.

You are required to specialise in any one of the below:

1. Speech and Hearing Impairment

- Screen referrals of students with language, speech, and hearing handicaps.

- Be responsible for organizing and implementing a therapy program to meet the needs of speech, language, communication and hearing-impaired students & teach techniques that are appropriate to the nature of the disability.

- Develop and conduct an in-service program to inform classroom teacher of the goals and objectives of the speech program and ways of achieving them in the school.

2. Visual Impairment

- Provide instruction and support in adaptive reading, math, and other skills and techniques specific to students with visual impairment using various assistive technology devices (CCTV, iPad), equipment, and software (JAWS, MAGic, etc.) designed for the visually impaired.

- Transcribe lessons and other materials into Braille for blind students or large print for low vision students.

- Review and correct completed assignments, using such aids as Braille writer, slate and stylus, etc.

3. Intellectual Disability

- Provide support by instructing, assessing, and program planning for students with a primary disability of autism, moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, serious emotional and behavioral disorders, and multiple disabilities.

- Assess student progress towards objectives, expectations, and goals (e.g., behavioral, motor development and communication skills, academic needs, vocational abilities, etc.) for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.
