The PhonePe payment solution for merchants is a multi-instrument payments container and enables national/regional brands in the Offline Organized Retail space to accept payments digitally from their consumers. The endeavour is to provide the best-in-class consumer and merchant experience in the context of digital payments and develop deep partnerships with the merchants in driving various business priorities.

About the Role:

A person in this role would be responsible for expanding PhonePe' s footprint in the transit & government business segment. This is an individual contribution role and one would have to own end-to-end accountability for building PhonePe's acceptance network across a set of national and regional business partners operating in the country

Key Responsibilities:

- Engage with the national/regional/local governments and associated agencies to expand PhonePe's footprint in the Transit & Government business segments. Drive the regional strategy with the holistic view of business opportunity, go to market approach, emerging segments, strategic initiatives and market engagement plan

- Identification of key stakeholders on the merchant's side for the identified set of brands

- Develop an understanding of the prospective merchant's business environment and preparing merchant specific contextual/relevant pitches. This would need one to be good with data/understanding of businesses/solutioning approach in the Indian context and basis this one should be able to outline the value which PhonePe can add to this business

- Pitch the solution along with the overall business proposition to the key stakeholders. This would need one to be comfortable with having multiple discussions with CXO's/Senior Management on the merchant's side

- Work out the commercial terms of the partnership with the merchant. This would need one to be good with numbers and negotiating capabilities

- Work with the PhonePe internal stakeholders and various stakeholders at the Merchants' end to enable successful closure of the deal and successful delivery of the project. This would need one to understand PhonePe and the Merchant's business end-to-end and identify all relevant elements to be covered for the successful delivery.

- Monitor the key metrics related to the existing merchant account and work with the internal stakeholders & different functional teams on the merchant's side with an agenda to drive the overall digital payments pie for the merchant and maximize the PhonePe share in that.

- Experience in handling/generating revenue for the organisation.

- Able to work with and integrate knowledge across various disciplines including product, technology, operations, sales, marketing and legal.

- Consultative selling focused with deep product, services and solutions expertise

- Want to create an impact in one of the most dynamic business environments.

- Are comfortable with all aspects of planning, budgeting, tracking and optimization of costs.

- Experience of working on transit & government business, tender process, managing government relationships will be an added advantage

This is the role for you!

Eligibility:

- MBA from Tier-1 Institutes: ISB/IIMs/XLRI/SP Jain/MDI/FMS or Equivalent

- Minimum 6+ years of overall experience

- A significant part of this experience should be across Digital Payments/Retail Sectors/Banking in the B2B Sales/Business Development Domains

- Prior experience in payment space would be preferred
