The PhonePe payment solution for fuel retail merchants is a multi-instrument payments container and enables merchants to accept payments digitally from their consumers. The endeavour is to provide the best in class consumer and merchant experience in the context of digital payments and develop deep partnerships with the merchants in driving various business priorities

About the Role:

A person in this role would manage acquisition and sales for the merchants in the fuel category for a zone (cluster of cities). As part of this role, one needs to work with dealers of leading National Oil Marketing Companies in the zone to drive acquisitions, build relationships and manage the store activations and topline for these dealers. This is a people leadership role and one would need to manage a big team of on ground sales personnel across multiple cities to drive the stated priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

a. Acquisitions - Onboarding of dealers on to PhonePe platform

b. Training and Activation of stores

- Responsible for active outlets count in the zone as per plans on a daily basis

- Training of merchants/managers/cashiers on the solutions, ops processes through the team

- Point of sale merchandising at each of the outlets-deployment, positioning etc

c. Relationship Management with Dealers

- Directly with proprietors/managers of key dealers

- With proprietors, managers and cashiers of all dealerships through the team

d. Relationship Management with Regional/Divisional teams of partner Oil Marketing Companies: Divisional Managers/Marketing Officers/Sales Officers

e. Accountability for Topline of the Zone

- Delivery of sales targets for the zone

- Responsible for flawless execution of key sales inputs-Execution of consumer offers, in-store promotions, in-store merchandising, other incentives etc

f. Team Management

- Manage a large off roll team to deliver the objectives of acquisition, relationship management with dealers, training and activation of stores (all stakeholders in an outlet) and in store promotions

- Design the beat plans for the team, responsible for territory design/redesign and maintaining teams- visit frequencies to outlets as per the plan

g. Co-ordination with central category teams

- Consistent on ground feedback on solution performance/escalation mechanisms/offer performance/other merchant level inputs to the categories and proactively working on these to improve on ground performance

- Min 5 years of experience in sales/acquisitions across industries like retail/FMCG/Telecom/Fuel Retail

- Experience in Fuel Retail Industry would be a big plus
