Performance Engineer/Architect - Java - Banking

We are hiring for a global leader, IT product company in Banking.

We are looking to form a 3-member offshore team in which one resource should be senior architect or similar position who would lead the team. Rest of the 2 members could be title/position of Architects.

The skill set that you specified below is very opt for Sr. Architect position. In addition to below, we would like to add documentation and presentation skills.

Java resource with focus on tool development and automation of manual processes.

a. Strong core Java back ground

b. Experience around shell scripting

c. Experience in developing batch processes, nice to have

d. Experience with load generation skills with tools such as JMeter, SoapUI etc.

e. SQL tuning experience is a must

- Responsible for offering performance testing/engineering services for projects/releases across the applications.

- Offer solutions for critical software amp infrastructure performance bottlenecks Work with Developers/Architect/Network/Environment support/DBA#39s closely to identify bottlenecks and suggest tuning opportunities to improve code base performance, configuration optimization (web/app/db servers), algorithm redesign, architecture redesign, reduce resource consumption and shorten network latency

- Define Web Performance Best Practices and Rules for large scale high traffic web applications

- Good Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Client Co-ordination Skills, Negotiation Skills, Enthusiastic Team Player and Leader, Positive Attitude amp Quick Learner.

- Experience in identifying and Analyzing Application Performance including Memory Leaks, CPU spinners, Threading synchronization issues like dead locks, thread starvation etc (Must Have)

- Experience in analyzing Javacore, thread and heap dumps (Must Have)

- Thorough knowledge and hands-on Experience working on any one of Java Application Profiling and APM (Application Performance Monitoring) Tools from Introscope, Dynatrace, Opnet, ndash Load Runner, Performance Center, VSTS Performance Center, AppDynamics, Dyna Trace, Fiddler, HTTPWatch, Omniture, Splunk, Perfmon etc Compuware, HP, Jprobe, JProfiler, OptimizeIt in using these tools to pinpoint root cause of performance issues and bottlenecks in the different infrastructure layers web, to application tier and database.

- Experience in scripting and gathering performance metrics using LoadRunner, Jmeter and unix tools like vmstat, nmon

- An understanding of JVM tuning options available on any of the J2EE server like Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, Oracle Application Server (Good to have - Knowledge part should be fine)

- An understanding of Java Garbage collector algorithm/policy tuning

- Good at back end SQL tuning experience is an added advantage
