BASIC PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

This position is accountable for Planning and strategizing import & export logistics (RM/PM/ Engineering ), Custom clearance for all Import Export material . The position currently oversees all imports and export logistics that happen to and from PVMI. Incumbent is a key interface between the suppliers and the CHA for these locations

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Imports :

- Verify the nature of import material (in order to ensure that it is permissible under the Indian Import regulations)

- Assess need for a license & coordinate with the legal department for relevant applications

- Monitor EPCG license performance wherever required and ensure complete discharge of imports over period of time the license is applicable.

- Oversee timely and correct preparation of all required documents & assessment of financial liabilities and insurance documentation

- Advise suppliers on related documentation & legal formalities

- Coordinate with procurement in purchase of RM and Engineering items.

- Oversee the management of freight forwarders.

- Liaison with customs and other authorities as needed.

- Ensure timely clearance of goods post shipment to avoid delays.

- Ensure 100% duty benefit of FTAs

Exports :

- Verify the nature of export material (in order to ensure that it is permissible under the Indian & - country of concern- regulations)

- Identify appropriate mode and nature of transport keeping in mind time/cost and nature of material

- Coordinate quality certifications & material inspections etc.

- Review need for licenses/approvals & coordinate with the legal department for relevant applications

- Oversee timely and correct preparation of all required documents as per requirement of importers

MIS & Reporting :

- Review MIS Reporting from own functional area

KNOW-HOW, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE FOR THIS POSITION :

Education, Qualifications and Training :

- Min Graduate in any stream, If postgraduate, preference for specialization in operations. Diploma in export/import is preferred

Experience required (e.g. Past Roles, Level, Years Experience, Technical, People-Management, etc.) :

- 4-7 years exp. Couple of years as a Asst. Manager. Handled international logistics in last few years as Ast Manager / Manager

Specialised Knowledge or Skills required (e.g. Technical, Cross-functional, etc.) :

- Handled food RM and Engineering material,

- Duty structures of Import, FTAs, regulations related to Import/ Export

- EPCG
