ACCOUNTABILITY :

1. Compliance with Legal Obligations and Company Requirements

To advise and support the Plant Head and other persons involved in planning, organizing, controlling and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for work.

- To adhere to the Company H&S policy, organization and arrangements in consultation with various stake holders.

- To adhere to the Company Environment policy, organization and arrangements in consultation with various stake holders.

- To implement PI H&S Procedures and develop local work procedures to comply with legal obligations.

- To implement PI Environment Procedures and develop local work procedures to comply with legal requirements.

- To liaison with government authorities for statutory compliance related to Safety.

- To liaison with government authorities for statutory compliance related to Environment management. To review and develop the Health & Safety Management Plan (AOP) and communicate the plan at all level.

- Maintain the Plant risk register comprising of significant risks and ensure that risk/Impact assessments are completed for all activities.

- Maintain the Plant Environmental Impact Assessment register comprising of significant Impacts and ensure that Impact/Aspect assessments are completed for all activities.

2. Support for Department :

- To advise and support the Plant Health & Safety Council, in making sure that the Council takes ownership of the Plant Health &Management Plan (AOP).

- To Constitute and support the Plant Environment Council, and making sure that the Council takes ownership of the Plant Health &Management Plan (AOP).

- To extend support in achieving country level Health & Safety management plan (AOP) and work as part of country Health & Safety Team.

- To extend support in achieving country level Environment management plan (AOP) and work as part of country environment management Team

- To advise Plant Head in ensuring that their Plant has key staff mobilized to carry out the Health& safety and environment activities e.g. Risk/Impact assessors, First aiders, Fire wardens etc.

3. Accident investigation and prevention :

- To receive and investigate reports of accidents, dangerous occurrences and fire damage, determine their causes and make recommendations for improving recurrence prevention and controls.

- To receive and investigate reports of Environmental incidents & dangerous occurrences, determine their causes and make recommendations for improving recurrence prevention and controls.

- To monitor that all accidents are properly investigated by department managers and lessons learnt are shared appropriately.

- To maintain a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrences& Environmental Incidents. Provide statistical summaries to the Plant Health &Safety and Environmental Council and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences.

4. Environment Health & Safety (EHS)Training :

- To identify the training needs for employees & contractors and develop training matrix. Liaise with managers to nominate employees & contractors for training courses.

- Design, develop, upgrade content on EHS training and impart trainings as required.

- To monitor training and report progress on training against annual targets to the Plant EHS Council and myEHS.

- To develop a system to ensure that all employees & contractors are inducted on EHS requirements of the company.

- To Identify and develop training program on environmental compliance and monitoring regulations.

5. Work Environment :

- To develop a system to ensure staff moves and relocation are risk assessed and planned

- To monitor work environment parameters e.g. workplace noise, illumination, heat, humidity, indoor air quality etc.

- Prepare a PPE matrix covering the entire premises on the basis of risk assessment of the respective area/activity.

- Ensure compliance to occupational

- health and statutory processes related to it.

- To ensure ambient air quality in plant premises meets regulatory norms, ensure vehicular emission is within in legal permissible limits.

6. Management of Change :

- To develop a system to ensure that any refurbishment and new project work is reviewed for Health& Safety and Environment Impacts at planning stage. All the risks induced by the change have to be identified and addressed adequately throughout the span of the change.

- To develop a system to ensure that any change or introduction in man, material, machine, method& environment etc. is to be reviewed for Environment, Health & Safety at planning stage. All the risks & environmental Impacts induced by the change have to be identified and addressed adequately throughout the span of the change.

- Implement PI requirement on management of change.

7. Fire Prevention and Emergency Planning :

- To develop a system to ensure Fire detection, protection and firefighting equipment's are maintained in working condition.

- To develop a system to ensure that fire drills are carried out in the premises on defined intervals, reported adequately and review & improve effectiveness of the system.

- To monitor and track the status of HPR score of the plant given by FM Global.

- To Support engineering team for planning, implementation of action plan as per FM guidelines to improve on HPR score.

- To Coordinate FM audit at plant and ensure continual improvement.

- To develop a system to ensure that all possible emergencies are identified, listed and onsite/offsite plan is prepared and regular mock drill is conducted to ensure effectiveness of the system.

- To develop a system to ensure that all possible environmental emergencies are identified, listed and onsite/offsite plan is updated and regular mock drill is conducted to ensure effectiveness of the system.

7. MyEHS System Management :

a. Enter site incidents, near-miss, fire accidents and metrics into the MyEHS system

b. Complete Incident investigation and submit all incidents within specified timelines

c. Coordinate with Plant leadership to close their actionable in system and act as a system expert in plant

d. Support H&S Systems manager to maintain system hygiene and deliverables

e. Report site Health &Safety and Environmental metrics on a monthly basis into myEHS system and communicate the same to the plant Health & Safety and Environmental councils.

8. Global EHSMS Program Management :

a. To initiate and implement systematic roll out of GEHSMS program at plant as and when rolled out by region safety team

b. To conduct baseline self-assessment for each rolled out program

c. To conduct baseline self-assessment for Top Five Environment Management Program

d. To drive year on year improvement in all rolled out Top five Environment Management program.

e. To support proper planning and deployment of resources for all GEHSMS programs.

f. To ensure regular monitoring & self-assessment of GEHSMS Programs.

g. To drive year on year improvement in all rolled out program.

h. To Coordinate GEHSMS, OHSAS18001 & ISO 14001 audit as per sector EHS team plan.

9. Fleet Safety :

a. To develop a system to manage movement and maneuvering of vehicles inside plant premises.

b. To educate drivers on defensive driving and road safety requirements of PI

c. To educate drivers and helpers on PI working at height requirements.

d. To develop a system to ensure safety during loading, unloading operations.

e. To implement systems to ensure safe loading, unloading of hazardous materials like LPG, HCL, HSD, Caustic, Ammonia and other chemicals as per legal requirements.

10. Environment Management :

a. To maintain a register of Environmental impacts of all the activities

b. Ensure that the Product and the Manufacturing Process complies to the statutory Requirements as per Environment Regulations such as EPA and Acts & Rules under its umbrella (PCB).

c. To Plan, Monitor and control running of ETP as per statutory requirement

d. To develop a system to monitor the compliance with legal/statutory requirements for EHS

9 To develop a procedure to ensure monitoring of environmental emission including air and water effluents.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

- Education requirement BE/B Tech/B.Sc. with a Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute.

- At least 8 years industry experience.

- Able to communicate in local language.

- Exposure to OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001 management systems-preferable.

- TPM /Six-Sigma/ Project Management Exposure - Desirable

- Experience in verticals of Health and Safety like Industrial safety, fleet safety & warehouse Safety.

- Able to implement Global H & S policies and accommodate local cultural and regulatory requirements.

- Ability to work independently in cooperation with diverse business units, external agencies, contractors and cultures in a proactive manner is essential.

- Good communication skills should be able to interact with all level of employees across business units. Should be able to develop and deliver H & S related training modules.

- Good problem solving skills - ability to prioritize risks and liabilities and the allocation of resources.

- Ready to travel as and when required.
