Chartered Accountant Job Responsibilities -
1. Book keeping -
- Allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- End to end book keeping
- Support month-end and year-end close process
2. Procurement & Accounts Payable:
- Actively be involved in implementation of procurement policy
- Conduct surprise audits of the Gurukuls
- Fixed asset management
- Ensure timely payout of invoices
- Handle petty cash
- TDS deductions and appropriate statutory filings
3. Reporting:
- Produce error-free accounting reports
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Prepare financial statements against budgets, according to schedule
4. Compliance:
- Work with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Liaise with our Financial manager and Accounting manager to improve financial procedures
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Storage of records (electronic/hard copies) as required
5. Others:
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Develop & document business processes/accounting policies to maintain/strengthen internal controls
Requirements
- Proven experience as accounting supervisor or accountant
- Experience in procurement and fixed asset maintenance
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Tally
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
