Business Head

Summary/Objective :

- The business manager must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and other employees.

Essential Functions :

- Responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategy for Parentcircle magazine and Parentcircle.com

- Responsible for on boarding new clients specifically schools, hospitals, hobby classes and tuition centres.

- Responsible for preparing contractual proposals, including creative, innovative, novel, unique concepts and approaches.

- Responsible for directing contractual negotiations, and assisting/participating in the negotiations as may be necessary.

- Responsible for pricing policy, price maintenance, price schedules, evaluation and approval of off-list prices.

- Responsible for sales/margin/profit growth.

- Responsible for developing and guiding new product programs to ensure sustained profit growth within the business unit.

- Responsible for contributing to the corporate strategic growth plan via annual business audits, evaluations and submission of multiyear business plans.

- Responsible for professionally done, attractive literature and promotional materials that present the unit's products and services in a professional manner.

- Responsible for staffing within the business unit.

Supervisory Responsibility :

- This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment :

- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work :

- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Travel :

- This position requires a frequent amount of travel within the local territory

Required Education and Experience :

- A graduate degree is essential.

- At least 10 years of relative experience in retail and business sales for the media industry.

- A person with extensive experience in selling ad space

- Experience as a sales manager for a staff of direct reports.

- Preferred Education and Experience

- A PG degree in marketing or a related field will be an advantage.
