Job Overview Product Manager will be responsible for the Product Development of our site - OysterConnect.com. You will be expected to develop and maintain customer experience standards and ensure user workflows accurately reflect user needs. You will be required to work collaboratively with the portal application and development team to ensure the development of best-in-class product. Job Description The specific responsibilities of the job will be as follows - Product Development Life Cycle - Identify key features and functionalities of the portal - Engage with internal stakeholders to identify and understand user flow gaps resulting in poor efficiency - Prioritize the features and other development needs keeping the business requirements in mind - Convert the requirements into detailed PRDs and work with the outsourced tech team for its implementation Product Releases - Test all new implementations first on the Staging Site and then on the Live Site to ensure all implementations are smooth and bug free - Ensure all Feature/ Process changes are done in a user friendly manner - Communicate the new features and train the internal team on the new functionalities User Experience & User Design - Research & recommend features to improve UX & UD. - Understand benchmark practices in the area of UX/UD - Identify and resolve key user experience issues - Analyse reported bugs and fix small things on your own - Measure, prioritize and drive improvement of all online customer touch points across the customer lifecycle Technology - Keep abreast with new technologies and recommend the best practices to improve overall speed & performance - Recommend the most suited platforms and strategies to keep the portal light and efficient SEO Management - Manage both on-page SEO and off-page SEO for the company - Ensure all content based changes or implementations are SEO friendly (On-Page) - Meta Tagging, Page Optimization, Keywords Density - Implement Off-Page SEO Activities - linking within the site, backlinks from other sites such as Quora, Blogs, etc. - Manage and improve organic search engine performance and goal-setting based on clickthrough rates, traffic, and conversions Inter-Departmental Engagement - Engage with Project Management team regularly to understand their challenges and recommend simple features to improve their experience and productivity - Coordinate and collaborate with the Outsourced Tech Team daily to ensure all implementations are happening as per plan and on time Desired Candidate Profile: - User Centric Approach - Creative out of the box thinking - Ability to understand and visualize technological products/features/user flows - Ability to manage unstructured projects/environment - Data driven quick decision-making skills - Eye for design and detail - Excellent grip on MS Excel - An active interest in Google Adwords - Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills - Excellent Interpersonal Skills - Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines - Outstanding target orientation - Prior experience in product management for a B2C platform is desirable Benefits - Opportunity to build outstanding user experience on an online portal with an active user base of 50,000 students per month - This job will require you to work with Top Management on a daily basis and hence improve your larger understanding of business while picking up strong skills in strategic thinking and process understanding. - Above all it is an opportunity to be a part of a unique business model.
