OYO Rooms - Manager/Senior Manager - Procurement & Supply Chain (7-10 yrs)

Job purpose :

OYO network is gearing up for a major expansion across India as well as internationally. This poses a substantial challenge for the procurement and supply chain organization due to the unique requirements of the business model. OYO operates multiple formats of the self-operated as well as own operated hotels. The requirement is to enable the business with timely procurement and delivery of not just capex material/items for the new properties but also supply material for running of the hotels. The items vary from air conditioners and furniture to water bottles and toiletries - itself posing a unique supply chain distribution challenge

The director in this team is expected to be a team leader carrying responsibilities across one or more of the below roles. He/she would be required to not just run the teams but to build the teams to ensure that OYOs breakneck pace of growth is supported. The key asks from this business leaders would be to build for growth while setting best in class practices in the function.

Key skill set/experience :

- 7+ years of experience across procurement or supply chain functions (warehousing/distribution)

- Experience can be across Consulting, FMCG, FMCD, metals, and mining or e-commerce industries

- As a procurement expert, should have managed multiple categories with a team of 6-10 people under him or have led multiple procurement transformation projects across clients

- Should have a robust understanding of the entire procure to pay cycle. Ideally should have worked across cross-functional projects for cost reduction or service level improvements through innovation

- As a supply chain (logistics/warehousing) expert, should have managed a national level profile. The experience can be spread across the same industry segments as mentioned above

- Preferred but not must that the candidate should have international experience or should have worked in the startup ecosystem in India managing diverse roles and responsibilities

Roles :

Procurement :

- Develop sourcing strategy across multiple categories including bottom up costing, vendor identification and onboarding, negotiation strategies with special focus on total cost of ownership across the product lifecycle

- Work on global low cost country sourcing strategy to ensure OYO gets the best advantage of a global vendor base - this is to cater to a monthly buying of ~ INR 50 crores spread across multiple categories and almost doubling year on year

- While based out of India, create a global procurement organization catering to multiple countries - develop category expertise in the team to support this global footprint

Supply Chain Planning :

- Work with the business teams to understand the new property launch plans and work backwards to draft out a procurement and supply chain plan

- Convert overall business plans to category wise plans and work proactively with the vendors to plan for their timelines of supply

- Evaluate vendor delivered or self delivered models across categories and locations

- Build teams in the international markets for carrying out the same exercise. Work under a matrix organization structure to cater to the international markets

- Plan material supply to existing hotels - categories are spread across anything and everything required for running a hotel. This becomes specially complex given the kind of properties OYO operates - typically 40-50 rooms at one site leading to limited storage space and thereby calling for more frequent servicing of the properties

Warehousing & Logistics Management :

- To support the ever-expanding business a robust network of warehouses and regional distribution needs to be set up to ensure good service level adherence while keeping costs in check

- Work with logistics partners to plan and ensure timely deliveries of all material

- Continuously evaluate the partner performances and proactively work on improving them

- Work on a global fulfillment footprint in the times to come
