Job Overview :

- The ESP Systems Manager is responsible for the setup and maintenance of all the ESP (Email Service Provider) Platforms used by the organization. This will require a good understanding of the various features, and limitations, of the ESPs. They will also need to know about the data handling capabilities of ESPs - list-based systems vs. data tables/extension-based systems, and set up the ESP accordingly. They will also be responsible for vetting and setups of any new ESPs. It is also recommended to have some knowledge about MTAs.

- The ESP Systems Manager will also need to have an understanding of email marketing operations, to understand current processes followed by the mail teams, so as to recommend ESP features that may solve their needs, or make their processes efficient, like setting up journeys, automations, etc in ESPs.

- They will also need to have a working knowledge of the various APIs available from the ESPs, so as to recommend the development of automations through API integrations.

- For this, they will need to work closely with the email operations team, gather and create clear requirements, and get the automations developed, tested, and deployed by the technical development team, and rolled out for use by the email operations team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

- Setup and maintenance of ESP account.

- Recommendation and implementation of new ESP features.

- Collaborating with various email operations teams, to understand needs for optimization and efficiency in processes.

- Writing requirements for getting mailing operations automations developed testing and delivering the final product to stakeholders.

- Provide documentation and SOPs as needed, for training.

Knowledge and Skills Required :

- Strong understanding of various ESPs, their features, and their limitations.

- Good knowledge of email marketing operations.

- Proven ability to assess business needs and processes, and translate them into relevant solutions.

- Knowledge of APIs available from ESPs for automations.

- Flexibility in working with cross-location teams.

Experience

- 2-3 years experience working with various ESP platforms (SFMC / Exact Target, All Inbox, Ongage) preferred

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience
