Job Summary :

As Operation Manager you will be responsible for supporting metal mining customers by actively supporting Sandvik Equipment's working with the team to improve availability of machines and performance with a focus on Reliability centered maintenance practice. Active promotion of Sandvik service, original spare parts, maintenance contracts, etc. In this position you will report to Service Manager-Parts & Service & will be based in Ajmer, Rajasthan.

Key performance areas:

- Ensuring that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure all employees are provided with a safe and healthy working environment. This includes compliance with the SMC safety management program.

- Managing CPH contract & Operation & maintenance for achieving AOP as per Business needs.

- Ability to challenge difficult mining condition and plan to achieve operational performance in adverse working condition.

- Continuously improve and update personal knowledge with respect to product development and technical innovation.

- Ensure that Workshop, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition

- Ensure systems of work, which encompass Personnel Safety and Environmental diligence, are implemented using all relevant Sandvik and / or Client Procedures, Work Instructions and Risk Assessment methods as appropriate. Ensuring Legal Compliances as per Mining act and Liaising with regulatory authorities and govt. etc for obtaining necessary sanctions / clearances & ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.

- Ensures that employees receive adequate instruction, training and Supervision to enable them to work free of unnecessary risk

- Safety communication and consultation with Sandvik employees occurs on a regular basis or as specific needs arise.

- Effective implementation of preventive maintenance with the help of customer maintenance staff. Help customer to record the same.

- Analysis report in case of warranty failure, repeated failure, peculiar failure, etc.

- Feedback on the product performance, availability, parts consumption, etc.

- Carry out health Audit checkup of the equipment's.

- Actively promote genuine SANDVIK spare parts.

- Spare parts estimation for customer stock considering machine condition, working environment, customer stock level, etc.

- Liaison with order desk / parts department. and help customer in getting the spare parts.

- Cost reduction by optimization of formulation and streamlining operational process.

Your Character :

We are looking for someone with an Engineering degree combined with a solid background from handling MARC Project for 12 to 15 years. You demonstrate an excellent site management skill including Accounting, Reporting, Monitoring, Administration, Strategic decision, customer communication, conflict resolution, and people management.


- You are expected to have strong Knowledge of commercial & SCM, business management tools and standard Software like Microsoft Office / CMMS/ SAP/ MAXIMO.etc.


- Experience in working with operation and maintenance team for underground or surface metal mining project is a plus. Experience in working in Load & Haul machines, UG Production & Development drill, LPDT, LHD etc is a definite plus.

- As a pro-active, self-driven individual, you are a strong communicator with sound leadership skills who can lead change initiatives across cultures.
