Open Financial Technologies - Director - Engineering

- You will be responsible for managing the overall software development life cycle of Open's product suites.

- Manages the day-to-day activities of the engineering teams as well as the team's delivery commitments. The Director of Engineering is responsible for the management of the department's staffing, resources, and mentoring, and maintaining a best-in-class engineering department.

- Mentor to key engineering personnel, and constantly planning and facilitating career growth.

- Responsible for technology architecture, assimilating proven new technologies, and driving innovation to scale to develop the next generation systems, products, and engineering services.

- Prepare budget and make optimal technology investments for software and services.

- Coordinate closely with other disciplines (especially business and products ) to ensure alignment against larger organizational goals.

- Work with the CTO, Product Managers, and Business to develop a long-term product plan and manage the release planning cycles for your products

- Plan and track the development and release schedules, proactively assess and mitigate risks. Prepare for contingencies and provide visible leadership in crisis.

- Conduct regular 1:1s for performance feedback and lead their appraisals.

- Responsible for driving good coding practices in the team like good quality code, documentation, timely bug fixing etc. Ensure security coding practices are met by the developers.

- Report on the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.

- Create and maintain an open and transparent environment that values speed and innovation, and motivates engineers to build innovative and effective systems rapidly.
