Role & Responsibility:

Objectives of the position:

- The objective of the data science team is to use data to identify improvement areas, business opportunities across functions and drive sustainable data-driven decision making across the organization. The role will involve:

- Understanding business problems and opportunities, developing hypotheses, driving a team of data scientists to validate hypotheses, build statistical models and enable decision making through data.

- Identifying opportunities to enrich existing datasets, capture additional data points through the customer journey and use them to improve service offering, product plans and suggest initiatives to reduce cost.

- Looking out for opportunities to monetize existing datasets.

Areas of Responsibility :

- Work with various teams like Marketing, Sales, Risk, Finance, Human Resources, Product, Technology and Service Delivery to determine various use cases for data driven decision making

- Identify scalable and innovative approaches to data processing and analysis

- Develop custom models and algorithms to uncover insights, trends, and patterns and identify opportunities for revenue maximization, cost reduction, fraud prevention, NPS improvement

- Identify and track key lead and lag indicators against each of the above impact areas

- Assist Technology, Product and Business teams in identifying opportunities to capture additional datasets through the customer journey

- Hire and manage a team of data scientists

- Identify opportunities to monetize existing datasets for various partners, brands and OEMs

- Help build a culture that puts measurability at the heart of every decision that the company takes

Competencies required:

- A passion for data, and business with minimum experience of 7-8 years in data science

- Strong problem-solving ability and a knack for statistical analysis

- Common sense, and an appreciation of common logical fallacies

- Extensive work experience in SQL, Python/R, or other similar technologies for performing complex data modeling and analysis

- Ability to identify risk situations and opportunities, and generate creative solutions to business problems

- Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to lead a team

- B.E. or B.Tech from a premier engineering college or a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics.

MBA will be an added advantage
