Ola integrates city transportation for customers and driver partners onto a mobile technology platform ensuring convenient, transparent and quick service fulfillment. Ola is committed to its mission of building mobility for a billion people. Using the Ola mobile app, users across 110 cities can book from over 6,00,000 vehicles across cabs, auto-rickshaws and taxis. Ola has also introduced a range of shared mobility services on its platform like Ola Shuttle and Ola Share for commute and ride-sharing respectively. The app is available on Windows, Android and iOS platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Coimbatore is one of the fastest growing cities in Ola - the City Manager has the opportunity to steer the city as it aims at almost doubling its revenue in a single quarter (and not from a small base either!). Coimbatore has high potential in almost all the categories Ola is present in, whether it is P2P, Auto, Rentals or Outstation.

Growth Strategy - Plan and build short-term and long-term growth strategy for the city in conjunction with the business head. Responsible for supply and demand growth in the city across products and categories.

Supplier Management - Ensure long term and profitable relationships with business partners and supply retention through effective reward and recognition programs.

Building a pro-vendor brand - Retain Ola as the preferred choice amongst operators and driver partners by ensuring a win-win for every stakeholder. Identify newer and innovative ways to engage partners continuously.

Competitive Understanding - Keep a close watch on the competitive landscape of the city. Seize opportunities to adapt pricing, talent and business model.

Building an A- Team - Responsible for hiring and managing a team that will consistently achieve / exceed growth targets.

Forecasting - Manage and own metrics that objectively monitor the business. Balance inventory growth with demand to ensure optimization.

- Build a good understanding of the city and the culture and proactively identify and seize opportunities to grow the business through targeted interventions, working closely with local stakeholders and authorities where required

- A successful Coimbatore City Manager can move either into a Regional Manager role in the Emerging India team or into the Top 7 city teams.

Experience & Skills :

Skills Required (Technical, Soft Skills, Specific Tools, Personality Traits) :

The City Manager of one of our most important cities must be a high-impact problem-solver and a high-energy execution machine. Additionally:

- Aptitude with strong analytical skills is essential. Have good reporting skills (MS Office)

- Should be able to think unconventionally

- Should be obsessed with quality. Implementation of Six Sigma in the past can be an advantage.

- Passionate and own up proactively. Should be a good salesman!

- Managed a closely-knit community of influencers (eg. Channel Partners / Agents / Drivers / etc.)

- Has effectively managed a large team in the past and is objective in approach towards goal-setting and monitoring.

Qualifications -

Candidate Background Required (Education & Experience) -

Education/ Qualification - MBA / B. Tech from a premier college

- Experience in managing a fast paced business on-ground preferably on the supply and procurement side - Eg. FMCG Supply Chain, Security Services, Telecom, Logistics etc.

- Prior experience managing cross-functional teams

- Successfully executed business development opportunities and negotiated partnerships.

- Experience in early-stage startup environments would be an advantage

- Knowing the local language would be an advantage
