Accounting for the Capital Markets business includes reconciliation preparation and approval, general ledger entries, financial reporting, special projects and facilitation of internal and external audits for both third party and intercompany loan sales, derivatives and on-balance sheet loan inventory.

This position Reports to the Senior Manager Finance

Responsibilities:

On site management of the team that is:

- Responsible for the reconciliation of general ledger accounts to include inventory, derivatives and sales clearance accounts

- Ensuring the accuracy of accounting in the GL and responsibility for making journals where required.

- Communicating with other business units, researching and resolving the open items.

- Special accounting related projects (ledger enhancements, reporting changes, etc)

- Co-ordinate with external auditors and internal auditors.

Key Result Areas:

- Accurate financial information provided for publicly filed financial statements

- Timely and accurate account reconciliation

- Identification and assessments of control gaps

- Communication and escalation of issues to US partners

Qualifications:

- Post graduate experience with 7-10 years of accounting experience

- 5+ years of management experience

- Certified public accountant (Chartered accountant equivalency)

- Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles

- Abilty to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal daily supervision.
