Position Title

Head - Supply Chain Mgmt., DSM India

Job Description :

- Lead the DSM-SCM India organization (composed by a Team of People managers and Supply Chain Managers) by optimally steering people and assets to best serve project needs according to priority, and ensure timely delivery of high quality products and solutions.

- Foster a culture of innovation, empowerment, trust, learning, diversity and inclusion and high performance. Ensures the team achieves the milestones.

Main responsibilities includes :

1) Leads a team of about 25 to 30 associates in DSM Supply chain management unit as Operational Manager in a direct leadership role

2) Ensures high standards in objective setting, performance monitoring, review and management, as well as development planning for associates are maintained.

3) Ensures that the most talented associates are hired, trained and developed according to the respective business needs.

4) Actively supports the India Leadership team in achieving site level goals and helping build the right culture and work environment in line with Novartis V & B.

5) Contributes to definition and implementation of the global department strategy and ensure that both strategic and operational objectives for the Global line function are met or exceeded by setting appropriate priorities for the team.

6) Ensures the optimal organization of people, assets, and equipment in order to best serve project needs consistently and with high quality. Makes sure that all deliverables are achieved against agreed upon project timelines and with committed resources for all projects assigned to the team.

7) Ensures that targets are maintained for line function budgets.

8) Supports the continuous improvement of processes to maintain high quality standards and operational excellence.

9) Ensures best practice sharing, knowledge exchange, and cross-functional support within the team and with partner organizations in respective line function and beyond (e.g. other TRD line functions and NTO).

10) Ensures compliance to all relevant standards (e.g. HSE, GMP, ISECO). Ensures that all solutions and products are delivered in compliance with all relevant corporate and legal guidelines on HSE and quality requirements.

11) Effectively manages the interface between the team and stakeholders in other functions in and outside of DSM.

12) Achieves a true culture of empowerment and innovation, diversity and inclusion, trust, high performance and continuous improvement mind-set in the team.

13) Ensures that regulatory filings to health authorities are appropriately supported.

14) Supports internal/external inspections and audits, SOP creation, revision and update.

15) Active support to DSM leadership team.

Minimum requirements :

Advanced degree in science, engineering or equivalent with MBA (Operations / Supply Chain Mgmt.) Excellent fluency in English required (oral & written), local language is desirable.

1) Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; experience in a leadership and people management position with successful performance.

2) Proven track record of successfully managing interfaces to other functions.
