Business Overview:

Global Markets (GM) Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets (Front Office) teams supporting Equities, Securitized Products, Rates, FX, and Credit. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura's global business

The Business Management/ CAO team in Powai is a key Business Unit within the GM division. It houses a number of extended teams for various regional functions acting as enablers for the FO team such as AEJ, EMEA & US GM Business Management, Client Account Management and Strategy (CAMS), Front Office Supervision (FOS) and Senior Relationship Management (SRM).

This particular role is within the Business Management team (GM CAOs). The Business Managers play a strategic role in delivering the Global Markets business agenda. They work extensively with Front Office Business Heads to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.

Role & Responsibilities:

- We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the GM CAO - Business Management team, based in Powai, partnering with the AEJ (Asia ex-Japan) GM Business Management team (primarily Sales & Structuring Business Management and eFX Product Management)

- The individual will be joining as a Team Lead of an existing team of 2-3 Business Managers based in Powai and work very closely with other Sales & Structuring Business Managers and eFX Product Managers based in Powai as well as in the region

- The individual will assume day-to-day responsibilities which will contribute towards business management, performance monitoring, managing infrastructure/ processes which support AEJ GM as well as driving key business initiatives that are critical for the growth and day to day operation of the franchise

- The role would require working with all the functions in the GM space - Sales, Trading, Structuring, and Research and with all the Corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Business Analysis, Management Presentations

- Assist Sales/ Product Desk Heads with data-backed actionable insights focusing on dimensions like revenue trends, product & segment penetration, wallet-share analysis, hit-miss analysis, client onboarding & engagement etc.

- Prepare management presentations to summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption and other management reporting metrics

- Prepare periodic business summaries covering financial metrics as well as business commentary for Senior Management

- Owning and Driving key business initiatives to achieve GM business objectives

- Setup appropriate infra and support systems to monitor progress

- Coordinate with various corporate functions to ensure seamless execution

- Partnering with Technology, Operations, Finance, other Corporate functions

- Own day to day issues pertaining to various corporate functions and ensure closure

- Control and Conduct

- Owning Audit points and business continuity management (BCM) plan for the unit

- Expense approval, expense management and tracking

- eFX Product Management activities

- Governance (progress tracking, follow-up on open items, updating stakeholders etc.)

- Vendor management (internal onboarding process in liaison with business/ legal/ procurement, invoice/ payment process etc.)

- Team, Talent Management

- Contribution to people management, recruitment and training.

Mind Set:

Domain:

- Prior experience of driving initiatives in Global Markets space and experience of working on cross-functional projects

- Good Knowledge of Capital Market products and asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, Forex, Derivatives)

- Prior team management experience of 2-3 years

- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders at senior levels

- Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills

- Good project management skills - planning, coordination/ execution, stakeholder mgmt

- Ability to prioritize high volumes of deliverables across multiple disciplines working under pressure -

Is entrepreneurial and independent; self-starter, takes ownership, exhibits integrity, strong motivation and attention to detail

- Ambition and enthusiasm to succeed in this challenging role

- Prior experience in strategy roles would be an added advantage

- Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau etc. would be an added advantage
