COMMUNICATIONS COE LEADER, GROWTH MARKETS

Primary objectives:

Play a lead role in external and internal communications for Growth Markets, overseeing and orchestrating communications initiatives which span multiple countries within the Group, collaborating with Group and global Communications stakeholders on global communications projects, providing counsel and advice to in-market teams on communications-related matters, and supporting crisis and issues management as and where required.

Key responsibilities :

Primary areas of focus include:

Public relations: 

- Create and roll-out a public relations plan, including press releases, by-line articles, data deals, etc, which support regional/Group business objectives

- Establish and maintain relationships with key regional and global tier 1 media contacts to ensure regular and ongoing exposure in target business and trade press

- Collaborate with the Marcom Leaders and ambassadors across Growth Markets to manage and coordinate responses to in-bound media enquiries, working with local spokespeople and analysts on ad hoc opportunities arising through journalist enquiries and requests for data and/or expert commentary on topical issues

- Leverage various media channels including print, broadcast, digital and social media

- Measure and report on key media metrics (eg coverage, share-of-voice, etc)

 Industry engagement - 

- Develop and nurture relationships with above-market external industry associations.

- Identify and pursue opportunities to pitch for keynote speaker addresses, etc to raise the profile of senior Group executives

Thought leadership -

- Work with the Thought Leadership community to stay abreast of latest available thought leadership material and work with local teams to coordinate activation of relevant global/regional content

Internal communications -

- Support development of Group-wide internal communications materials and maintain regular internal communications activities and channels which deliver key business messages to associates, improve employee engagement, and improve associates- understanding of strategy and vision

- Provide support on Group-wide announcements and communications as required

KPIs : 

Impact and performance will be assessed based on the following KPIs and expectations:

- Press coverage - sentiment, quality, volume/hits and share of voice vs competitors

- Degree to which Nielsen's brand and reputation has been upheld in the market throughout the year, such as presence at industry events, response in the face of a crisis, quality of communications materials being produced, etc

- Quality and impact of internal engagement initiatives being undertaken based on MyVoice survey results and feedback from internal stakeholders

- Quality and impact of thought leadership content leveraged across the Group

- Degree to which communications activities carried out throughout the year align with and support the Growth Group's big bets, objectives and imperatives - to be assessed based on internal feedback from stakeholders (Growth Leadership Team, Group Marcom leader, etc)
