National Sales Manager- GT/MT - FMCG/ FOOD/ Personal Care

Location: Mumbai (PAN India)


Reports to: CEO


Job Purpose: The purpose of the job is to lead the Stationery and Colour sales function for the organization with a focus on Traditional Trade and Modern Trade strategizing and driving sales and distribution objectives across categories and geographies through leading large and diverse field teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Managerial Responsibilities

- Coordinate and contribute to joint decision-making with other department heads to achieve organizational goals

- Communicate the decisions to the subordinate teams and drive these within the function.

- Provide On the Job training to team members basis training & developmental needs

- Setting the Goals for the Team and help them to achieve the Goals by Mentoring and coaching.

- Providing guidance and support to the team

Functional Responsibilities:

- The candidate will be responsible to monitor competitive activities and devise effective strategies for business growth

- To lead and drive the teams to achieve sales target & revenues

- Make Sales Plans and Demand forecasts across categories & geographies and monitor the achievement of the same against the annual business plans.

- Analyze the sales performance periodically and provide inputs to achieve them.

- Monitor various trade strategies vis-vis budgets and evaluate the effectiveness of the same

- Improve Distribution network

- Work closely with the team for new product introductions & improving the marketing mix of current products - (product quality, price, placements)

- Driving standard sales practices and ensuring hygiene in the areas of collections, market working, etc.

Functional Competencies :

- Good distribution Channel Sales experience is MUST

- Planning & Forecasting skills

- Good commercial acumen, tech-savvy, good business understanding & detail oriented of business & numbers

- Knowledge of Sales practices & trade

- Problem Solving & Decision making

- Knowledge of Customer Behavior

- Must be willing to travel extensively

- Behavioral Competencies

- Leadership : (Leading large/diverse teams)

- Effective communication

Qualifications: MBA in Sales & Marketing from a reputed college

Experience : 

- 12 to 20 years of FMCG Sales experience.

- Age 37 to 43 years

- Multi-regional experience is MUST
