Our client is one of the largest player in the Food & Beverages industry. It has an extensive distribution system spanning more than a million outlets operating with world class execution standards.

We are their talent search partner and currently scouting for professionals with 12-15 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations.

In this role of "National Lead - Corporate Communication and Media Relations" based in Bangalore, the incumbent would be responsible for creating content and news stories relevant to respective media houses and channels, build and maintain relationship with the press and predict and participate in news cycles.

Job objectives

To create communication and profile our client organization in traditional, online news media, blogosphere and TV news media. The incumbent is responsible for creating content and news stories relevant to respective media houses and channels, build and maintain relationship with the press and predict and participate in news cycles.

Job responsibilities

1. Create news stories and content that gets published in print, online news media, blogs and TV news media, all across the country - Gather information and developments at client organization and position them as news stories worthy reportage, across India.

2. Develop and maintain relationships with the press, across India with reporters / Editors / Bureau chiefs of all regional, vernacular and English media and TV channels - thereby building a healthy culture of information exchange between client organization and other party

3. Executive Communications - Briefing materials, talking points, background notes, speeches, presentations for senior leadership and company spokespersons

4. Crisis Response and Communication - Effectively manage / handle any crisis and issues pertaining to client organization in traditional media and online and broadcast media like - product issues, employee issues, accidents, bad experience etc

5. Co-ordination and management of media outreach and communication at all Plant locations - in partnership with the Factory teams and PAC leads.

Education

Degree - Mass Comm / Journalism

OR MBA in Communications / Marketing

Experience

13-15 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations

Business knowledge

Ability to independently develop press releases, communication materials for positive messaging and equally adept at warding-off a crisis

Excellent relationships with the media in India

Functional competencies

1. Excellent media relations - Must have working level contacts and deep relationships with senior editorial staffers in the press, across India

2. Content creation - Ability to create press releases, notes, collate information to create stories and adapt existing content to different mediums

3. Executive Communications - Ability to create Briefing materials, talking points, background notes, speeches, presentations for senior leadership and company spokespersons

4. Crisis Response and Communication - Ability and prior experience to have handled large, national crisis like product quality and integrity, IR and employee issues, strikes and protests etc

5. Skill of managing and coordinating media outreach and communication at different factory locations in a very large manufacturing company

IT knowledge

Working knowledge of MS Office. Illustrators / Photoshop / Design software is an advantage
