We have immediate job opening for Project Controller for Chennai location.

Job Description :

Experience : 3+ Years.

Key Account abilities:

1. To assure the economic and financial management of company procedures and ensuring the risks and the opportunities are followed to meet the project financial targets

2. To ensure actual costs recorded and guarantee analysis of Estimate to complete of given project

3. To ensure that Project's QCD commitment (Quality, Cost & Delivery) is properly backed-up/documented and monitored monthly with the help of PM and Project core team

4. Supports project manager/project lead in controlling/financial management of project

5. Member of Finance Business Partnering Org. within Sub-Continental India Region

6. Responsible for helping drive financial performance of Project/s in Mining/Cement Capital Business.

7. Support to Mining/Cement Capital Sales and Execution teams in all financial aspects under the area of responsibility

8. Deliver a quality support to FBP SPOC for the Region.

9. Responsible for daily financial business tasks under the area of responsibility.

Key areas of responsibilities:

1. Be the economic and financial advisor to the project manager/group lead. Ensure necessary conditions for achievement of project's financial targets.

2. Prepare, along with PM, periodic project reviews, including the project cost monitoring and provide all the relevant financial analysis

3. Control project results through close involvement with the project manager/group lead, work package owners

4. Promote a robust risk & opportunity management in contracts. Provide active support for claims compilation.

5. Develop Cash flow monitoring mechanism with the help of FBP team. Specifically, follow-up the implementation of cash improvement actions and promote the cash culture in project

6. Keep control on NWC. Identify, Initiate, Monitor and Control elements to improve net working capital locked in projects.

7. Ensure customer invoicing is done promptly and play an active role in achieving payment from customer in due time. Ensure complete control on receivables. Responsible for addressing escalations on customer collections and extend support to AR teams in whole billing to collection process.

8. Monitor & manage guarantees & bonds relating to the project

9. Manage budget/forecast of the project. Forecast, monitor and control revenue and margin arising from the contracts.

10. Participate/drive in meetings and all decision making concerning financial or contractual aspects of the project

11. Prepare and review work package: Calculate & monitor work package costs since Situation 0. Challenge cost to complete to maintain/improve project margin. Ensure individual risks are properly assessed and mitigation plans in place. Actively involve during order placement process.

12. Coordinate with the relevant teams to ensure accounting and reporting consistent with contract's progress and as per group accounting & reporting rules

13. Provide active and timely support in month close, estimate/budget process and audit as required from project.

14. To support Project teams and ensure compliances, work closely and manage interfaces with other expert functions: tax, treasury, Finance Controlling, Finance Shared Services, etc as and when required for project matters.

15. Ensure that all financial processes and internal controls (CPX), including DOA, are implemented, robust and compliant on the contracts in Sales and Execution phases. Responsible for maintaining documentation for activities under the area of the responsibility.

16. Make active use of project processes and tools (Oracle, planning tool etc.)

Skills & Knowledge:

Technical knowledge / Experience:

- Preferably some experience in same position or in controlling area of industrial company

- Economics (cost control, cash flows, P&L + Balance Sheet principles)

- Fluent English

- Knowledge of ERP {SAP) appreciated

- CA/ICWA/MBA

Relevant experience:

- Project controlling exposure from a big Project organization - minimum 3-6 years experience.

- People management and stakeholder management experience

- Attention to details & Process improvement prior experience is desirable

- Advanced Excel & PPT skills, ERP knowledge as active user required. Having Oracle knowledge is a plus.
