We have immediate job opening for Claims Manager for Chennai location.

Job Description :

Educational qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

- Strong knowledge of contracts

- Legal qualification/ Contract certified professional will be an added advantage

Relevant experience and skills:

- 15 years of experience in contract and commercial role preferably in Minerals/Cement industry

- Strong knowledge of contracts and legal impact

- Strong communication and negotiation skills

- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects

- Position will be based in Chennai and role requires limited travel to various project sites with in India.

Responsibilities:

1. Identification & assessment, implementing processes, procedures & mitigatory measures to ensure that the organization is fully prepared to deal with any potential threats and leverage the opportunities

2. Develop polices around project risks and also the protocols basis the previous risk factors

3. Prepare strong risk & opportunity reports, mitigation plans to overcome the risks and propose to the management.

4. Participate in potential internal sales discussions proactively and contribute to cost reduction at bidding stage, identify potential risks & opportunities and remedies.

5. Develop and implement clauses to help mitigate risks and leverage opportunities in the bids with the help of relevant departments

6. Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and be ready to handle unexpected situations

Key Accountabilities:

1. Lead the development and implementation of set of plans and programs to meet the goals and priorities of the project department.

2. Adherence to safety policy and compliance policies within the scope of project management

3. Drive efficiency through resource optimization and implementation of best practices on risk management and opportunity creation across all sites and create opportunities to improve margins.

4. Provide expertise and consulting to project managers in the process of project management. Guide the team of PMs on contractual ways to execute the projects in time, within cost and explore possibilities of additional savings/claims by taking key decisions at appropriate time.

5. Proactively assess risk and have detailed mitigation plan in place. Resolves issues in best manner by developing cordial relationship with all the stake holders.

6. Ensure customer satisfaction by supporting the execution team by identifying the risks & opportunities well in advance and suggesting the alternatives so that the on time of delivery of projects as per the commitment

7. Enable the project management team to achieve the revenue targets along with CM targets and DIFOT targets as per the business target year on year

Major Challenges:

1. Inter-departmental co-ordination between Sales, Engineering, Finance, Procurement to meet project deadlines in terms of Quality, Cost & Delivery

2. To read between the lines in contracts and handling situation in case of ambiguity

3. Managing tough customers in case of delay in project completion due to un predictable situations like contractors/subcontractors- issues
