Job Description As an Economist, you will be responsible for conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, offering macroeconomic insights, and evaluating various financial assets. This role emphasizes a Macroeconomic Approach, covering asset classes such as Debt, Commodities, and Global Assets. You will also engage in front-facing communication with clients to present investment opportunities and ideas, making confidence and effective communication key components of this role. Key Responsibilities - Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative research on traditional and alternative financial assets, with a particular focus on global economies and macroeconomic factors. - Analyze the economic impact of financial, political, and socio-economic data on market trends, investment opportunities, and asset performance. - Monitor global macroeconomic trends and evaluate their effect on financial markets, with a focus on asset classes like Debt, Commodities, and International Assets. - Prepare and present fortnightly reports on the Indian and global economies, providing actionable insights for both internal teams and clients. - Regularly communicate with clients to discuss market trends, investment opportunities, and ideas, ensuring clarity and confidence in delivering findings. - Develop statistical and econometric models to forecast economic trends and inform investment strategies. - Prepare written commentary on weekly and monthly economic perspectives to keep clients informed on key market shifts and investment considerations. Qualifications Educational Requirements: A relevant Master's degree or PHD qualification in Economics. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a research or economist role, preferably within financial markets or investment management. Skills & Expertise: - Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and macroeconomic factors. - Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial modelling and econometrics. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic trends in an understandable way. - Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation preparation. - Ability to think from a macroeconomic and big-picture perspective in evaluating investments. Optional Requirements: - Knowledge of Python, VBA, or Macros for automating tracking of various markets and asset classes would be a plus.
