Role Summary:
MyCPE One is seeking a highly skilled US Tax Manager (CPA Licensed) with extensive experience in preparing and reviewing Individual Income Tax Returns (Form 1040).
The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of expertise in individual tax compliance, tax planning, and strategy.
This role involves managing a diverse client portfolio, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and delivering strategic tax planning recommendations.
Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and review of Form 1040 (Individual) tax returns.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Maintain thorough documentation and record-keeping for all tax filings.
Tax Planning & Strategy:
- Develop tax-efficient strategies for individuals, including business owners, executives, and partners.
- Advise on opportunities to minimize tax liabilities, optimize deductions, and leverage credits.
- Support clients with retirement planning, estate planning, and personal tax matters.
Research & Compliance:
- Stay informed of changes in federal, state, and local tax laws impacting individual taxation.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues to ensure compliance.
- Assess the impact of new tax regulations on client filings and business operations.
Audit Support:
- Manage IRS audits for individual returns and address tax-related inquiries.
- Ensure documentation supports tax positions during audits.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA Licensed.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in preparing and reviewing Form 1040 tax returns.
- Proficiency in individual tax compliance and planning.
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of federal and state tax laws and compliance for Form 1040.
- Familiarity with tax software (e.g., Thomson Reuters UltraTax, Wolters Kluwer CCH) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for explaining complex tax matters to clients and teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with international tax issues (e.g., foreign income, withholding tax).
- Expertise in tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and complex family entities (Trusts, Estates).
- Knowledge of indirect taxes (sales, use, property tax) is a plus.
