Manager - US Tax


Key Responsibilities:

- Tax Compliance: Oversee and manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IRS regulations.

- Tax Planning: Provide proactive tax planning and strategies to minimise tax liabilities for clients while ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws.

- Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing tax advice and addressing any tax-related concerns or issues that arise.

- Build and maintain strong client relationships.

- Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of junior tax professionals, providing guidance and ensuring the timely completion of tax-related tasks and projects.

- IRS Representation: Represent clients before the IRS in audits, appeals, and other matters, leveraging your CPA or EA credentials to provide expert guidance.

- Tax Research: Stay up to date with the latest tax law changes and industry developments, ensuring the firm's practices are always in line with current regulations.

- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks for clients by providing sound advice on tax compliance, business structuring, and other related areas.

- Financial Reporting: Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax reporting and assist in the preparation of financial statements.

- Tax Technology Utilisation: Utilise tax software and technology tools to streamline tax compliance processes and improve overall efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience:

- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Licensed.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in US tax, including tax preparation and planning, with a focus on both individual and business clients.

- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, including regulations related to income tax, corporate tax, partnership tax, and estate and gift tax.

- Experience in tax research and applying tax laws to client situations.

- Leadership experience, including managing a team of tax professionals and overseeing complex projects.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to clients and internal teams.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

- Proficiency in tax preparation software.

- Ability to build strong client relationships and deliver excellent client service.

- Experience with IRS audits and other client representation matters is highly desirable.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and a client-centric approach to tax issues
