Job Title: Actuarial Analyst Biometrics Base Location: Mumbai Reporting To: Deputy Head of Biometrics Experience: 1 to 2 years, preferably with Direct insurance/ Reinsurance About the Biometrics Department: The Biometrics department is responsible for analysing the mortality and morbidity experience of various products of life insurance companies. Deep-diving into the data and providing detailed technical insights on the drivers of mortality/morbidity is one of the core objectives of this team. The team also monitors the emerging experience of reinsured business and delivers actionable insights to the management. Working closely with the Pricing, Valuation and Analytics teams, the Team also aids and assists in setting pricing/ valuation assumptions for Life/ Health insurance products. Job Purpose / Brief of Job Role: Support the Deputy Head of Biometrics in delivering business-driven research and value-added analytics insights for the India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh markets. The chosen individual will play an active role in supporting on projects for major clients and internal research initiatives, supporting all lines of business for Munich Re Indias operations and any Regional initiatives as and when required Specific Accountabilities: Accountability & Key Performance Indicators 1. Assist in the performing experience analysis of Individual and Group business for clients and internal consumption - Perform Experience Studies and analysis of client and reinsurer data in line with MR best practices and standards - Preparation of Experience Analysis reports for consumption at a unit-level and region-level - Monitoring of reinsurance experience and updating pricing best estimates as an when required 2. Support the Deputy Head of Biometrics in the delivery of allocated projects - Completion in accordance with agreed project timelines and objectives - Reports prepared to standards set by the Deputy - Head of Biometrics/ Chief Actuary 3. Assist in development of biometrics research, cross-functional projects and support, as required - Liaise with other functions e.g. Pricing, Valuation, Analytics and Underwriting team members in planning, analysing and reporting on various actuarial projects in the area of biometrics research - Draft reports compliant with standards laid down for such reports 4.Assist in development of analytical tools and actuarial models to help obtain maximum value from available information - Liaise with other functions e.g. Pricing, Valuation, Analytics and Underwriting team members in planning, analysing and reporting on various actuarial projects in the area of biometrics research - Draft reports compliant with standards laid down for such reports 4. Assist in Production of quality internal management information and reports to assist the decision making process - Efficient use of technology and automation to set up processes for analysis of large datasets - Quality and accuracy of outputs with analytical insights - Complete timely documentation in line with quality standards Education & Experience : Essential: - Actuarial student with at least 3 CM/CB series examinations passed (CS1,CS2 and CM1 Preferred) - 1+ years experience in areas of Pricing, Valuation, Actuarial research and/or predictive analytics - Excellent analytical, problem solving, research, documentation and project/ process management skills - Sound working knowledge of Excel and database management software like SQL / MS Access - Strong commitment to complete the Actuarial course.
