India Payroll Specialist


Your team responsibilities :


- This position is responsible for managing & administration of the entire payroll process and ensuring compliance and accuracy in Payroll activities of the India entity.

Your key responsibilities:

- Overall responsibility for payroll processing and administration covering all the components of payroll. This includes monthly cash payouts, managing the meal cards process and National Pension Scheme (NPS) process.

- Work closely with HR Connect team and other stake holders to organize correct inputs so that accurate payroll is processed.

- Manage all payroll processes in time bound manner and ensure validation of data to be accurate and truthful including but not limited to Investment declarations, WHT returns, WHT certificates, depositing of EPF dues in timely manner etc.

- Ensuring timelines are met for salary disbursement with 100% accuracy.

- Ensuring correctness of WHT on salaries, especially in case of exits.

- Responsible for providing variance analytics regarding payroll with Standardization of reports.

- Providing monthly payroll reports and accruals to Finance.

- Work closely with LEC team for correct accounting and reconciliation of payroll reports and accounts.

- Work closely with HR and Comp & Benefits teams to design and implement various initiatives around payroll domain.

Statutory compliances:

- Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all related statutory compliances, such as depositing WHT, Professions Tax, LWF, EPF, NPS and others.

- Responsible for satisfying statutory audit requirements, SOX audit and Internal Financial Control (IFC) verifications.

- Ensuring adherence to rules and regulations of income tax in case of all calculations.

- Preparation & Submission of Quarterly WHT returns and ensuring issuance of correct WHT certificates to employees.

- Stay updated with all relevant regulatory changes to ensure correctness and compliance.

Others:

- Act as MSCI contact person for any employee queries related to payroll calculations, tax workings or any related processes.

- Participate in new joiner inductions as per HR requirements.

- Guide and help employees to ensure completeness of employee driven processes like, Rent/ Investment declarations, submission of actual proofs etc as required from time-to-time.

- Engage with payroll provider to improve on processes and technological advancements.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel :

- Having 7-8 years of experience in handling payroll process out of which at least 3-4 years should be handling independently for Indian operations. Most recent size of operation handled should not be less than 1000 employees.

- Experience of handling payroll of multiple locations will be an advantage.

- Sound knowledge of rules and regulations related to compliance requirements under Income Tax as employer.

- Sound knowledge of Income Tax rules and regulations related to personal income tax from employee perspective.

- Sound understanding of rules and compliances related to Provident Fund, Profession tax and any other applicable laws.

- Sound knowledge of MS Excel.

- Should be able to manage confidentiality around payroll.

- Have good communication skills and experience in dealing/ communicating with employees at all levels.

- Person will be required to physically operate from office location on as-needed basis.
