Fixed Income Specialist - Sovereign & Green Bonds

Your Team responsibilities :


The ESG Fixed Income team is responsible for implementing and delivering solutions centered around MSCI's ever expanding suite of ESG offerings for the Fixed Income asset class, including Government Ratings and Screening of Debt Issuances. As an ESG Fixed Income Associate you will be expected to support existing ESG Fixed Income offerings, specifically the publication and data quality enhancement of government ratings and assessment of green and social bonds, as well as participate in development of future products.

Your key responsibilities

- Provision of oversight of the data collection and review process for government ratings and green and social bonds

- Analysis of country-level data from various data providers to ensure data accuracy and continued relevance amidst revisions to the underlying methodology

- Analysis of relevant documents (such as bond prospectus, frameworks, investor presentations etc.) and in-depth research to determine bond eligibility as per the relevant methodology.

- Responding to queries from clients seeking more information on the underlying data

- Reaching out to issuers to seek clarifications or additional information that may be needed for analysis

- Contributing towards the development of new offerings including sub-Sovereign ratings and ESG Bond Indices

- Providing specific inputs to support ongoing enhancements in the current analytical process

Your skills and experience that will help you excel :

3+ years of experience in experience in the ESG/ Climate/ Sustainability domain.

A good understanding of sustainable finance and ESG debt including green, social, sustainability-linked bonds, loans as well as sovereign credit.

Strong analytical skills and ability to articulate viewpoints

Excellent communication skills- both oral and written

Knowledge of international sanctions regimes and international finance desirable

Comfortable working in a team environment across hierarchies, functions and geographies

Knowledge of Python/SQL and intermediate-level MS Excel skills are preferred
