The Team: The Talent & Culture Operations team, within the broader Talent & Culture function, provides support to T&C's operational activities. The team is responsible for onboarding formalities, maintaining employee records, employment background checks, leave management, drafting and implementing policies and employee communication. This team is also responsible for payroll management with 100% accuracy and on-time disbursement and execution of value-added activities for employees and statutory compliance.

The Role: Morningstar is seeking a Senior Manager - Talent & Culture Operations to lead and transform our T&C operations team. In this role, located at Navi Mumbai, you will lead a team that serves as the primary point of contact for employees (AskHR), increases the operational efficiency of the local T&C team, and manages projects to improve processes and implement new T&C initiatives. You will work with T&C leaders across all domains to develop best in class processes, look for efficiencies, and ensure the operations team is set up to support the India based employees and business leaders through all key T&C processes and core functions. You will also serve as a vital member of the global T&C Operations team, representing India and working on global initiatives to improve processes and the overall Morningstar employee experience. In addition to your role across domains, you will be responsible for attendance and leave management, execution of employee engagement activities, vendor management and maintaining MIS. You will be responsible for ensuring employee records remain up to date and oversee the implementation of policies and statutory compliances.

Responsibilities:

- Strengthen local Operations team that develops and executes on high performing, employee focused processes across T&C domains, working closely with peers leading each domain to ensure process and project success.

- Work with global operations team on key initiatives, serving as the voice of the local needs and connecting local resources as necessary.

- Oversee onboarding and new joiner formalities, vendor invoices, and leave & attendance management and processes.

- Ongoing evaluation of processes to identify opportunities for automation or streamlining and drive process transformation in collaboration with People Technology or Transformation team, as necessary

- Partner with local marketing and Talent & Culture colleagues to plan and execute employee communication for various T&C activities

- Ensure HR records and systems are kept up to date and accurate

- Plan and oversee Employee Engagement Activities

- Build a best in class client service focused team to handle employee queries (AskHR), responding to escalated issues and reviewing satisfaction levels as needed

- Responsible for conducting period review of T&C policies and presenting to the HR Advisory Board in India and to the global team while ensuring collaboration with them for all employee policy related matters.

- Oversee the development & maintenance of MIS and T&C dashboard to provide insights on people related matters, market trends, industry best practices, etc.

- Manage and update the local employee knowledge base and Pond (intranet site) for easy access and reference to important information for employees

- Assist in other ad hoc activities, tasks, and projects, as assigned.

Requirements:

- Graduate degree, with 10-15 years of relevant work experience

- Strong leader with demonstrated experience in leading and influencing others

- Excellent communication skills, fluent in both spoken and written English

- Ability to work across HR domains, passion for process orientation and improvement

- Computer skills - MS Office and HR Tools such as Workday; Reporting tools such as Power BI/Tableau preferred

- Proactive, fast learner, independent thinker, detail-oriented and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

- LEAN or Agile experience strongly preferred
