Manager, Product Operations

POSITION PURPOSE :

This position presents an exciting opportunity to manage, implement and oversee product operations for Sustainalytics- ESG products. You will join a dynamic, multinational and strategically important Product Operations team and contribute to the development and implementation of company research and engagement products. The Product Operations team is responsible for implementation and maintenance of products and oversees the design, automation and delivery of our research to clients via our online platform, API and data feeds. The Product Operations team collaborates with our Product Management, Research and IT teams to bring product features to life. The ideal candidate will have experience in both product operations and product development in financial services.

Please note, this is not a software product management role.

The Manager, Product Operations will support the Senior Product Operations Manager, one or more Product Managers and/or work independently to lead the implementation, product enhancement and feature releases of Products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Act as a product, systems and process expert and own product operations and development for one or more products.

- Implement product roadmaps and work closely with Product Managers, Research, Engagement and IT teams to translate product features into clear requirements for implementation by these teams.

- Translates product features and methodology into business requirements and acceptance criteria for internal stakeholders (RP, IT) 

- Collaborate with IT, Research and other operational teams to estimate resources and timelines for bringing new features to the market.

- Project manage the delivery of new product features.

- Build and maintain implementation plans, track issues and ensure implementation of solutions.

- Work with internal stakeholders to set up processes and infrastructure to launch, deliver and improve the products.

- Tests and confirms that product development meets business requirements.

- Develop and implement quality processes and monitor quality across the product value chain ensuring appropriate QA systems are in place and that QA responsibilities are assigned and that the process is followed.

- Act as the first contact point for quality issues raised after launch, coordinating cross-team collaboration to resolve them.

- Identify cross-product data/operational dependencies, ensuring that responsibilities are assigned for managing them, and maintaining relevant documentation (e.g. internal SLAs, data catalogues).

- Contribute to strategic projects to enhance and improve current systems, processes, documentation and product quality.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE :

- 5 years of relevant work experience in managing/implementing the delivery of products and product features and their ongoing maintenance.

- Technical experience appropriate for working with data, data teams and software development teams.

- Experience developing and executing an implementation plan for a product vision or strategy.

- Experience in building and implementing the processes and systems required to support a product.

- Master's degree in related discipline (business, economics or finance) or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience is an asset.

- Experience related to the application of ESG research in investment process is an asset.

- Alignment with Sustainalytics- mission, vision and values.

SKILLS REQUIRED :

- Strong product/project management and execution skills.

- Product development and maintenance

- Understanding of product/process workflow

- Ensuring quality in processes and adherence to timelines/SLAs

- Data processing / analytical skill (including strong Excel skills)

- Strong product/project management, execution and documentation skills.

- Skilled at managing Stakeholders related to projects including evidence of ability to influence, lead and persuade cross functional teams

- Problem solving and critical thinking skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Work experience in culturally diverse environments is a plus.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and comfortable working with remote teams.

- A genuine team player who can achieve objectives through close collaboration and coordination with others (including technology, data & content operations, client services).
