Credit Risk : Credit Risk Management (CRM) evaluates credit risk transactions and approves, rejects, or modifies them considering the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer, Chief Credit Officer and other members of senior management. CRM also interacts with business units to ensure that credit risk assessments are factored into business decisions. Position Summary : Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Portfolio Management Credit Risk function responsible for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management's Tailored Lending Business. Morgan Stanley is a global leader in wealth management with an extensive network of 1,200 offices across the U.S. and in key international locations. We provide a range of products and services to individuals, businesses and institutions, including brokerage and investment advisory services, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust. The successful candidate will be responsible to: - In conjunction with the Sr. Credit Officer, monitor the ongoing financial condition and performance of the Borrower. Monitor covenant compliance. Monitor the value/condition of the collateral. - Maintain frequent communication with Sr. Credit Officers regarding the financial condition of Borrower(s) and compliance with reporting requirements. Keep current on major developments and changes in financial condition and identification of risks. - Ensure that Sr. Credit Officers are informed of relationship status and action plans on an ongoing basis. - Ensure loan documentation accurately represents the terms of the loan approval and permits Morgan Stanley to enforce its rights on the collateral in a default situation. - Identify early warning signals in deteriorating credits. Perform regular financial, credit and lien checks. Check for covenant compliance. Make timely recommendations regarding changes in credit classification and risk rating. Advise Sr. Credit Officers on remedial action plans as needed. - Review loan documentation and credit approval memos for compliance with firm's credit policy and philosophy. Produce high quality credit memoranda clearly outlining transaction, purpose, strengths, risks and mitigants. - Articulate recommendations in a clear, concise and informed manner. Demonstrate acceptable level of preparation and knowledge. - Work with Sr. Credit Officers to maintain and update files in an orderly and timely fashion. Manage all requests within stated turn times unless justified as an exception. Manage expectations through active communication with Sr. Credit Officers. - Responsible for the integrity of Borrower's loan data in company systems and ensure files are up-to-date. - Ensure loan documentation conforms to terms and conditions of credit approval. - Must escalate material individual relationship or portfolio observations promptly to Sr. Credit Officers. Experience :&nbsp; - Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in private banking or commercial banking in lending and credit analysis function - Formal commercial credit training required Skills/Abilities - Detail orientated and highly motivated. - Strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability to effectively summarize findings, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner. - Strong relationship management and communication skills. - IT and systems knowledge. - Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple deliverables. - Possess good oral and written communication skills. - Ability to multi-task. - Good collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
