We are creating a high-quality Finance department, responsible for directly reporting to the CFO. This advertised role is for Head of Taxation, a corporate office management position. Where do you start? Head - Taxation | Manager - Taxation What story will you write? - You will be the face of the company in all tax, statutory and compliance matters Viz; a) Income tax b) Indirect tax - GST, VAT, Service tax c) Import / Customs duty - You will be responsible for filing all returns as per timelines and in nurturing the relationship with tax authorities - You will be responsible for efficient tax planning for the company ensuring that we avail all tax benefits applicable to the company. - Maintain cordial relations with tax authorities and represent the company in all tax and legal cases before the authorities and help in resolving the same. - Responsible for successful completion of various tax audits - Representing the company in various forums, tax advocacy i.e. representations to govt. authorities for the benefit of the industry What will you think about? - Have we filed our returns on time and correctly - Are we achieving best practice in tax planning? - Representations in influencing govt. policy decisions for industry benefit Why is this exciting to you? - You would create a robust tax system for India's leading player in precious metals, and support the creation of India's most advanced precious metals derivatives trading desk. - You will be excited in managing all taxation, statutory and litigation matters of the company What is your A game? - People skills - You should be comfortable bringing new ideas into existing operations and have the stamina to be able to drive change while keeping a positive mindset. You must enjoy working in an entrepreneurial team, where you need strong time management skills, and enjoy handling multiple deliverables in a fast moving environment - Technical knowledge - You have a deep understanding of tax laws and legal matters Where have you been? - You will have 4-8 years of experience in heading taxation, legal and statutory matters in a company. - Preferably 1st attempt CA with exposure in big 4.
