Merck Group - Total Rewards Solutions Partner (9-15 yrs)

Purpose

Position serves as a knowledge and solution partner to the businesses for total rewards related topics encompasisng compensation, benefits, short and long term incentives, retention programs, rewards and recognition. Position is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and administering a comprehensive total rewards strategy and programs for the assigned markets that incudes implementation of globally defined corporate programs and processes as well as developing local solutions on demand. Position works in close conjunction with Head of HR for India and Indonesia markets to steer compensation and benefit topics including collective bargaining agreements and wage settlements. Position serves as point of contact for all rewards related activities in the assigned markets and takes support from Managed Business Services organization for execution of operational, logistics and routine matters.

Essential Job Functions

- Based on business requirements, plan, design, implement and administer a rewards strategy (aligned to global compensation philosophy), and programs including work/life balance programs.

- Strategically assess the effectiveness of current programs in achieving business and organizational objectives; identify best practices and benchmarks; and develop recommendations for modifications to align to business priorities and Sector people plans

- Plan and direct the implementation and administration of all benefit plans in partnership with MBS

- Manage and collaborate with vendors and external partners (e.g. insurance partners, employee assistance firms etc), including managing performance of contracts to ensure maximum value of services is delivered

- Act as project manager for total rewards for all mergers and/or acquisitions; steers integration of newly acquired businesses and employees into company's compensation and benefits framework.

- Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders on appropriate total reward packages to recruit and retain talent.

- Develop and coordinate communications strategies and activities designed to educate and inform employees about total rewards.

- Manage performance management and rewards and recognition programs for the company.

- Serve as the main resource for employees and managers regarding all benefit related matters.

- Evaluate the compensation landscape to understand and learn from best practices through benchmarking and industry research and employment trends, track legislation and make recommendations.

- Support all compensation planning processes in collaboration with HR Business Partners and MBS.

- Support the development and integration of new and/or existing rewards programs, policies and procedures to ensure that programs are market competitive, internally equitable, and cost effective.

- Develop knowledge articles and update knowledge management portal with changes in compensation and benefit programs,

- Support in implementation of internal operating procedures and controls for the administering and managing benefits.

- Determine and implement metrics that assess and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing Total Rewards programs and new initiatives.

- Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues, records and company information.

- Complete special projects, as assigned.

- Work with Market HR team to drive culture and change management from rewards standpoint

- Collaborate with all functions of HR in the market, to participate and execute various initiatives to build a strong functional credibility and HR brand

- Accountable for overall governance and adherence of the end-to-end TR process in the assigned markets

- Serve as a conduit between country, region and global teams for any functional updates or feedback.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

- Master's degree in HR or business management

- Minimum 9 years overall experience in integrated Total Rewards function in a diverse and global organization with hands on approach to execution

- Experience of working with external service providers

- Strong organizational/prioritization skills with an ability to multi-task to manage multiple projects while maintaining a close attention to details

- Exposure of working in a matrixed and a global environment with diverse stakeholders across multiple time-zones

- Ability to collaborate seamlessly with different functions within HR and with other functions within the company.

- Should have a strong learning orientation, results-drive mind-set and approach to execution.

- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
