Maintenance Manager - McCain Foods India Plant - Mehsana Key Responsibilities: Planned Maintenance - Monitor equipment during the week to prioritise &amp; plan work on a daily basis - Develop, review, upgrade and ensure compliance to all mechanical fixed time maintenance and planned maintenance tasks. - Ensure that all mechanical check sheets are completed on a weekly basis &amp; follow up work planned accordingly - Adapt mechanical maintenance schedules to maximise machine availability, cost effectively - Ensure that all maintenance is recorded on CMMS (SAP) - Ensure necessary spares are available whilst keeping minimum stocks on site Breakdown Maintenance - Respond quickly to all equipment breakdowns with maintenance team under him to minimize stoppage time - To lead follow up of all mechanical and electrical failures occurred in the assigned production line to find root cause &amp; prevent reoccurrence. - Ensure that the maintenance team does trouble shooting fast and effective - Communicate with production operators on time scale of stoppage &amp; any assistance that is required - Effectively pursue the cause of standardization and / or localization of spares and equipment - Create good relationships with local suppliers/ contractors to ensure parts are available quickly with minimal cost - Designing of specific spares not available in the trade and help in rebuilding the same - Arrange materials to be absorbed in stores inventory and advise the engineering store associate in the same - Ensure that relevant technician checks quality of delivered mechanical spares required to complete maintenance in time and ensure that the system sustains effectively Engineering Improvements : - Plan &amp; execute mechanical as well as electrical improvements in the assigned production line and relevant services area of the plant to increase efficiencies/ improve safety standards or assist production - Use design out maintenance techniques for problem machines - Assist with engineering projects as required especially in start-up management etc Safety : - Ensure all tasks are undertaken safely with appropriate PPE &amp; procedures by self and by assigned electricians, mechanical fitters etc working under him - Adhere to safe work practices such as working at height regulations - Ensure equipment is correctly isolated (LOTO) when maintenance is carried out - Report any safety or property loss incident to relevant persons in the safety organization and Manager as per company procedures - Identify &amp; report and plan corrective and preventive action for unsafe working conditions / machine faults - Plan &amp; execute plant improvements to enhance safety standards - Carry out regular safety inspections in all areas of the plant like BOS etc for areas under his supervision General Maintenance : - Communicate maintenance staff under him on their performance, recognizing achievements &amp; shortfalls - Manage the workload of subordinates &amp; ensure that engineering staff are sufficiently skilled &amp; trained - Produce standard maintenance procedures for all equipment - Perform any other reasonable work related tasks as instructed by Manager Budget Preparation: - Prepare annual maintenance budget and labor budget Working Relationships and Key Contacts: Contact Purpose: Internal: 1 GM Pant For day to day reporting 2 AM/ DM/Electrician / Fitter / Area Leader To discuss and to work on maintenance related problem 3 Area leader Production &amp; Production Exe.
