- Consultant will play a key role in supporting Mazars Global Infrastructure Finance by managing the financial model audit of the PPP transaction and operational stage infrastructure and energy projects.
- They will be required to work directly with the managers in other GIF offices located in Sydney, New York, Tokyo, Toronto and London.
Clients :
The role will primarily serve internal clients, i.e. the other GIF offices. However, the project manager is required to be a part of all client communication. We have a global clientele that includes major international banks, financial advisors, investors, developers and government agencies.
Job Role :
Technical Responsibility :
- Providing model assurance service/model auditing following the shadow modelling approach, where proven templates are used to review client models;
- Reviewing the work done by the junior members of the team;
- Attending client calls
- Reviewing project related documents like credit agreements, tax and accounting reports and payment mechanisms for assurance;
- Taking an active part in a continuous process of improving the quality and productivity of spread sheet building, and of model auditing processes and procedures; and
- Conduct training and webinar sessions for the training and development of the team
Functional Responsibility :
- Coaching and mentoring the juniors in the team
- Acting as the appraising manager of at least one junior in the team
Person specification :
1- Academics - essential
(a) MBA with Major in Finance, CA's, CPA's
2- Previous sector expertise - desirable
(a) Understanding of client / industry / features, issues, and trends in the project finance industry and the renewable energy sector.
(b) Understanding of project finance and project documentation, project structures
3- Understanding of tax and accounting - desirable
(a) Knowledge of basic Australian tax and IFRS/GAAP accounting
(b) Sector specific tax and accounting knowledge desirable
4- Other desirable skills
(a) Prior training in best practice financial modelling
(d) Experience of integration of databases and other data sources into excel spreadsheets
(e) CA/CFA Certification
(f) Strong skills in analysing and interpreting data
(g) Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
(h) Strong interpersonal skills
(i) Client focused
(j) Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
(k) Broad practical experience with MS Office, especially advanced used of MS Excel
(l) Possess a critical and questioning attitude and enjoy the challenge of solving logic problems; can anticipate questions and provide the answers as part of your solution.
(m) iIs an innovator: able to follow a defined process but continuously looking to make improvements; likes to work in a team, and willing to contribute to, as well as benefit from a continuous learning environment
