- Analyst will play a key role as part of a specialist, expert accounting and tax team, which supports all other global project delivery teams in the review of financial models. The specialist team are experts in accounting and tax treatments adopted in financial models, which typically relate to infrastructure or energy projects. The specialist team currently consists of 2 members permanently based in London and as such, the Analyst will be required to work directly with the team based in the EMEA region. - The role is part of a key strategy to train and develop our team and will be a role with both a significant amount of responsibility and ownership, as well as expectation. Clients :&nbsp; The role will primarily serve internal clients, i.e. supporting the project delivery teams of the worldwide GIF offices. However, the Analyst/Consultant will also need to co-ordinate with clients and be involved in broader client communication. We have a global clientele that includes major international banks, financial advisors, investors, developers and government agencies. The role will also involve liaison with different Mazars countries as we seek local expertise in local accounting and tax matters. Job Role :&nbsp; Technical Responsibility :&nbsp; - Providing specialist accounting and tax expertise to global project delivery teams - Reviewing tax and accounting reports in line with financial models to ensure consistency - Reviewing tax and accounting reports in line with relevant legislation and accounting frameworks to ensure consistency - Taking an active part in a continuous process of improving the quality and productivity of accounting and tax reviews - Assisting in the internal training on new relevant accounting and tax topics - Conducting training and webinar sessions for the training and development of the team, and clients - Overall acting as a point of local expertise on complicated accounting and tax matters 1- Academics - essential (a) ACA/CA - Certification as a chartered accountant with at least 3 years of professional experience in capacity as an external auditor or tax advisor (b) IFRS Certification/ Diploma ( a must to have) 2- Previous sector expertise - desirable (a) Understanding of client / industry / features, issues, and trends in the project finance industry and the renewable energy sector (b) Understanding of project finance and project documentation, project structures (c) Understanding of typical transactional accounting and tax reports and topics as applicable in infrastructure and energy transactions 3- Other desirable skills :&nbsp; (a) Prior training in best practice financial modelling (b) Experience of corporate modelling and other sectors of financial modelling (c) Ability to develop or understand macros in VBA (d) Experience of integration of databases and other data sources into excel spreadsheets (e) Strong skills in analysing and interpreting data (f) Strong communication skills (verbal and written) (g) Strong interpersonal skills (h) Client focused (i) Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities (j) Broad practical experience with MS Office, especially advanced used of MS Excel (k) Possess a critical and questioning attitude and enjoy the challenge of solving logic problems; can anticipate questions and provide the answers as part of your solution.
