Job Summary :

- The position is accountable for planning, organizing and managing Investigations for Special Investigation Unit.

- Responsible for keeping fraudulent and Non-compliant activities under control.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Manage Compliance Investigation for Controlling Mortality and reduction in Crude Death Rate

- New Business Investigations i.e. Customer Existence / Document Verification through Agencies

- Coordinate with Branch Operations Teams to fix the fraud at proposal stage by conducting the random and risk based sample audits of New Business proposals and Agent Recruitment forms at login stage

- Manage Investigations of early and suspicious claims (referred by Claims Team) through Agencies / visiting hospitals for cracking claims nexus

- Conduct Field Verifications on leads shared by Underwriting Risk Management Unit

2. Control Business Quality, Behavior Issues & Fraud :

- Regularly visit branches in the region and coordinate with Stakeholders (Sales / Ops / HR/ L&D) for quality control of business logged

- Investigate any Fraud / Misappropriation of Fund, Financial embezzlement and recovery from cases in the Region

- Investigations on Behavior/ Harassment issues forwarded by HR

- Investigate Compliance violations and admin related issues

3. Trend Analysis and Proactive Investigations and Training sessions :

- Identify patterns of Sales Malpractices and work with Linkages to facilitate field

- Conduct Spot Audits in branches to check malpractice like document forgery etc

- Conducting Training / sensitization session in the region

4. Coordination with Law enforcement agencies :

- Establish contacts with police officers for managing local issues

- Coordinate with Legal Team for filing any Police Complaint / FIR including follow-ups in police station in the region

- Representing Legal Team in all Ombudsman and Mediation cell cases

5. Records and Agency Management :

- Ensuring record maintenance of all case studies for future review purposes

- Recruit and Manage quality Field Investigation Agencies for New business document verification and Claims Investigation

- Ensure regular Audit on reports of Agency & monthly billing of agency bills

6. Close Looping basis findings of Investigations :

- Get actions on perpetrators initiated basis Investigation closure

- Identify Process Gaps and get the process corrected

Measures of Success :

- CDR for the region to show positive trend by 15%

- Reduction of fraud incidence in region

- Incidence of fraudulent death claim drop by 20%

- Reduction in pre-issuance check to prevent fraudulent applications by 15-20%

- Filing FIRs in for identified cases and Clearing of the already filed FIRs pending with follow-ups

- Investigations are completed within stipulated timeline

- Publication of study reports with all required evidence materials with corrective and preventive action report

- Effective closures of impropriety cases and implementation of Disciplinary Action Process

Desired experience/ Profile :

- Person with demonstrated skills in fraud detection /employee investigation / Compliance Monitoring/ Specialist in Document / Signature forensics/ Handwriting experts shall be preferred.

- Bachelors degree in any discipline

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Fraud Investigation and Dealing with Law enforcement Agencies (Police)

Knowledge and skills required :

- High analytical skills

- Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and influencing skills.

- Position requires extensive travelling


- Candidates who have a performance rating of G2M2 & have completed 12 months in the current role

- Candidates who have a performance rating of G3M3 & have completed 18 months in the current

- FOR LATERAL MOVEMENT, candidate should have completed at least 12 months in the current, Role & have a minimum performance rating of G3M3.
