Role : Category Manager - E-Commerce


Designation Title: Category Manager


Role Overview: The Category Manager will be the repository for all knowledge that exists currently in the real world: Understanding of the categories, how customers hire, how vendors engage and how the platform can create a great user experience for both.

Reporting to: Head of Value Delivery function

Department Overview The Value Delivery function is the epicenter of all wisdom of the wedding services market and the business, steering the value creation process for both the customer and the vendor.

Key Responsibilities : 

- End-to-end ownership of building the knowledge base of how users hire vendors for a wedding event in the identified wedding service categories.

- Category parameterization (what questions to be asked at the time of filling the need) based on the interviews conducted with both vendors and users.

- Identify the key parameters that achieve superior matchmaking and need fulfilment.

- Conceptualize and implement service delivery systems and processes for the category.

- Create and own the play book for on-boarding service partners and how to use MatrimonyBazaar app to manage their campaigns.

- Prepare the training deck and train the key stakeholders on the specific category.

- Work with the product team to create a great user experience for that category.

- Work with the marketing/traffic eam to generate customer requests.

- For your categories, MatrimonyBazaar must dominate in user acquisition, need matchmaking, need fulfilment and a positive word of mouth.

Skills and Competencies:

- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven decision-making mentality

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Ability to multi-task, work with, and through cross functional teams to meet tight deadlines; Go-getter, growth hacker

Education and Experience : 

- Graduate in any specialization with MBA preferably from a reputed institute

- 2+ year of work-experience in start-ups, consulting, marketing or operations roles especially in consumer internet industry

- Must have been an individual contributor
